Yep. You saw right. That's a big ass Ban Live Export bus wrap! How cool is that?

Here it is again:

1000-live-ex-bus.jpg

Recognise that face? This bull's story is one that I will never forget and if you've heard about him I'm sure you feel the same way. His face said more than words ever could. He was helpless and terrified and awaiting a cruel death :( His suffering was unnecessary.

Live export is a crime against animals. Fact. And we're determined to make sure that animals like the weeping bull never get forgotten by making him SUPER visible. You'll be able to spot his face on buses in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney and on taxis in Canberra and Adelaide as of RIGHT NOW.

1000-weeping-bull-taxi-back.jpg

And he'll be popping up all over the country in no time on more taxis and buses aaaaand even billboards!

LiveExport_Billboard.jpg

How bout that :) I'll keep you posted on where you can spot these as they go up. Where would you like to see one? We're hoping that this campaign will force the big decision makers in our country to open their eyes to the cruelty of live export. Because the truth is that we know that caring Australians like you already support an end to this awful trade. And our Government should reflect what Aussies want right?

You can help send home the message that live export is a crime against animals and we need to end it by taking the time today to write to your local politician. You might like to include our 'Ten reasons the world won't end when live export does' (because politicians can be a bit dramatic about these things.)

Let me know if you spot a Ban Live Export bus, taxi or billboard in your hood. We won't stop fighting for him!

Did you know that we can make the world a better place? It's true! And it's easy as.

Imagine if everyone knew this?

In November last year I went to see Lyn White's talk 'Becoming the best we can be'. Lyn is the Campaign Director here at Animals Australia and (don't tell her I said this) but she's also the person who first inspired me to get active for animals :)

She's no doubt helped inspire countless others who came to see her and now her talk is online for you to see as well :)

Here's the trailer to give you an idea of why I'm so excited to share this with you:

I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear that thousands of people have already jumped on to watch this online. I don't think I need to say any more. Go get some popcorn and a willing cat to cuddle and click the enormous link below to watch the full deal.

Be sure to let me know what you think :) Enjoy!

This little lamb looks like she loves a game of hide and seek (even though she needs lots of clues from 'Bea' :P)

Haha! She finally found Bea. Never give up little lamby :)

Did you know that sheep are known for their playfulness? They can also learn and respond to their name, just like dogs. Click here to find out everything you never knew about sheep.

Have you seen another cute lamb video? Share it with me in the comments :)

An open letter to duck shooters: Get a new hobby.

An open letter to duck shooters: Get a new hobby.

Dear duck shooter,

Today I heard that the 2015 duck shooting season has been declared. I'm writing to you because I'm just a bit concerned about your choice of hobby. It seems really ... hard. I mean for one ... don't take this the wrong way, but surely you must've noticed that no one really likes you :/

People like ducks alive! They just don't get why you want to shoot them. (Why do you want to shoot them?)

Anyway, I was wondering whether you'd ever thought about taking up a different hobby instead of duck shooting? Like what about bowling? Everyone likes bowling. Which pretty much sums up my first point.

Why it's time to stop killing ducks and get some balls. Bowling balls.

1. You don't make friends with dead ducks.

No. No you don't.

You do however make friends with big shiny balls. The proof is in this genuinely candid and not-at-all staged photograph of bowling friends.

bowling-friends.jpgThis could be you.

2. Bowling season never ends!

Duck shooting season is what, 3 or 4 months of the year? Maaaate ... bowling season is all year round!

520-bowling-man.jpgThis champion knows it.

3. No early starts.

morning.jpg

Not only is bowling all year round it's ALL DAY LONG too! Some bowling alleys are even open late into the night. So forget the early morning wake ups to go out and cruelly and needlessly shoot ducks out of the sky. Sleep in, (don't be a douche) and spend your leisure time smashing pins instead.

4. Balls are provided.

Great news for anyone who doesn't have any balls of their own. (i.e. anyone who shoots a defenceless bird out of the sky for fun.)

balls.gif

5. No one gets hurt.

No one gets hurt at bowling. Well, unless they're super bad at it. But even then at least they're willing participants. Unlike ducks. What kind of 'sport' forces participants to 'play' against their will? And by 'play,' I mean get shot dead, or wounded until they bleed to death. Seriously, duck shooting is done. It's no good. Move on. It's time for a new, non-cruel, hobby.

Click here to leave duck shooting behind and join the other 99% of us who don't shoot ducks.

(If you're already a non duck shooter and you reckon it's rubbish that people are still allowed to shoot ducks, there's something you can do about it right now. Click here.)

11 Aussies who won't be eating lamb this Aus Day

11 Aussies who won't be eating lamb this Aus Day

Tags: Australia Day, vegetarian, pledge, lamb, sheep, Australia

What do Peter Siddle and Portia de Rossi have in common?

  1. They're Australian.
  2. They won't be eating lamb on Australia Day.

And they're not the only ones. Check out these 11 Aussies who reckon eating meat has no place on Aus Day. (Or any other day).

1. Peter Siddle

SIDDLE.jpg

"[M]y girlfriend told me about factory farming, and how brutal it was to animals ... so that's when I decided to become vegetarian" says Aussie cricketer Peter Siddle. There'll be no lamb (or any other animal) on his plate this Australia Day.

2. Abbie Cornish

abbie-cornish.jpg

Actress Abbie Cornish first heard the word 'vegetarian' when she was 13. And on the same day she decided she wanted to be one :)

3. Osher Gunsberg

osher.jpg

'Bachie' host and his famous hair have been vegan for over a decade. Got a date with some Moroccan veggie skewers on Jan 26 Osh?

4. Chris Lilley

chris-lilley.jpg

Imagine a 5 year old Chris Lilley. Then imagine 5 year old Chris Lilley telling his mum that he wouldn't eat animals ever again.

That happened.

5. Sia

520-sia-dog.jpg

Aussie singer/songwriter Sia announced that she was now vegan in a tweet last year. YUS! Sia at my place for some cocunut/mango icy poles this Aus Day?

6. Ash Grunwald

ash-grunwald.jpg

Blues musician and long-time vego Ash Grunwald will no doubt be nomming on some meat-free goodness on January 26th. Maybe some sesame tofu sticks ... or some BBQ seitan ribs ... mmmmm

7. Dave 'Rasta' Rastovich

daverastovich.jpg

Surfer dude Rasta was once saved by a dolphin! He now does all he can to return the favour by campaigning to protect marine life. He also does his bit for all animals by not eating them :)

8. Portia de Rossi

portia.JPG

Portia hasn't eaten animals in over 6 years. "I feel happier, like I'm contributing to making the world a less violent place." She and Ellen are both vegan. (Because couples who eat legumes together, stay together.*)

*Based on no evidence.

9. Harley Bonner & 10. Ariel Kaplan

neighbours.jpg

Everybody needs good neighbours. And neighbours who leave animals off their plates are the best kind IMHO :) These two, who play Josh and Imogen on Neighbours, are more likely to be cuddling a lamb than eating one on Australia Day.

11. Me

burrito-night.jpg

Australia Day (like every day) will be meat-free at my place. Maybe my housemates and I will have burritos again. They were yum.

---

I know what you're thinking ... 'I want to be cool like these people this Australia Day.'

Good news. It's easy as. Just don't eat baby animals (or any animals) on January 26th. Or if you want to be super cool everyday, make the pledge to go veg for life.

Click here to make the pledge ... and then come back here to watch Winter the lamb do a happy dance. Because you deserve it.

Happy Australia Day!

P.S. Here's some awesome cruelty-free Aus Day recipes.

P.P.S. I know you want to put this on your facebook/insta/whatever:

P.P.P.S. THIS. Ok I'm really going now bye.
