Merry Christmas! Here's a minute of PURE joy:

ICYMI, these were the highlights:

0.17: TINY TINY PINK PIGGY NOSES!
0.30: OMG! SCRATCHING ON THE STICK! SQUEEE!
0.36: Kisses for mummy :)
0.55: TINY TINY PINK PIGGY TAILS!
1.02: OMG! ALL SLEEPING TOGETHER! SQUEEE!

It's a Christmas miracle that these little piglets are alive and well and will get to live out their days freely and happily. Mumma Pig, aka Wonder Woman, was rescued along with two other runaway pigs in September of this year. The team at Edgar's Mission soon realised that they had saved not three but 11 lives when Mumma Pig gave birth to 8 little pink parcels of joy :)

Guess what? You too can save the life of a piggy this festive season. It's as easy as signing the pledge to have a pork-free Christmas. And when you do, you'll receive a bunch of awesome cruelty-free recipes to have all the family drooling at the dinner table. Click here to help pigs now.

Oh, and also...

!!! :D

P.S. The 8 piglets are named after Santa's reindeer! Why will you be pardoning a pig this Christmas? Leave a comment to let us know your top reason.

Proof that eating vegetables makes you happy, in 76 seconds:

Doesn’t that just make you want to dance? And eat spinach? I love being vegan for so many reasons. I love knowing that I’m helping save the planet by eating food. I love that I’m probably going to live forever. (Or for a long time at least.) I love discovering awesome new foods like quinoa. But most of all, I love that I can enjoy life without harming others.

Animals want to enjoy life just as much as we do. Check out Hope, living it up at her home at Edgar’s Mission. Here she spends her days playing in the mud, catching up with friends and napping in the sun. Hope’s life started in a much darker place. A place with no grass -- only concrete and metal. A place that doesn’t need to exist. Hope was born into a factory farm.

You can help make sure that animals like Hope are not condemned to a life of darkness and boredom. AND be as HAPPY and HEALTHY as all the veggie-fuelled peeps in the video above! It’s simple. Click here to join the veg crusaders today. (Why not get your friends on board too by hosting a vegan dinner party? Click here for tips.)

Already doing the cruelty-free thang? Tell me what you love about it. :)

This Little Pig Won't Go Quietly!

This Little Pig Won't Go Quietly!

Pardon me for not putting hoof to keyboard before today to update you on my campaign to free my friends from factory farms! I've been on a whirlwind trip across the country with no time to spare between writing and giving important letters to supermarket managers, passing out info packs to shoppers, and hugging all the friendly miniature humans who stop me on my path!

It's hard work, but some pig's got to do it. And really, I can't complain. Running endlessly from supermarket to supermarket might not sound like pig paradise, but it's a breeze compared to what Mum endures every day back in the factory farm she's stuck in a sow stall just 1cm longer and wider than her body, where she's barely able to move and can't even turn around. She had her teeth broken and tail cut off when she was a baby without pain relief! It's enough to make a grown pig cry.

The key to freeing her and other animals is in the hands of everyone who visits the supermarket and makes a choice whether to buy into cruelty, or kindness. That's why I've already visited dozens of Coles' and Wollies' in VIC and NSW and continue on my quest to reach caring consumers everywhere.

If you give a snort like I do about ending animal cruelty, then raise your snout high and join me on my campaign! It's easy here's all you need to do:

  1. Go shopping and let your trolley do the talking!
  2. Tell Coles & Woolies what you think of factory farms
  3. Follow my campaign trail on facebook, and tell your friends!
  4. Ask for a TV ad for Christmas

Thanks for your help!

Lucy Pig.

One of the saddest things about animal suffering is that all of the animals are completely voiceless they don't vote, they can't speak our language and as such they cannot object to society's cruel treatment. But that's all about to change...

Animals Australia and Unleashed are about to embark on our biggest factory farming campaign ever an Australian first and we need your help to name the cute little pig who will be the face of this campaign. Everyone knows the cute little pig from the movie Babe, and Wilbur from Charlotte's Web. Well this pig is going to be next in line of pig fame. Though not a movie star, the work she'll be doing is so much more awesome she'll literally be changing the lives of her brothers and sisters who are stuck on factory farms.

So get those neurons working and let's rename this Jane Doe to be the best ambassador for the biggest anti-factory farming campaign Australia has ever seen. This larger than life costume pig could have your name all over it, and when you see her at supermarkets or in the street (very very soon), you can tell your friends "I named that pig." What's even cooler is that she is the only one that exists in Australia (and the world) who is being made specifically to combat factory farming!

Comment your suggestions below. The winner will receive:
1) A free hug from this one of a kind pig
2) Kudos from Unleashed
3) Envy from all other Unleashed members

(The above illustration is our artist's impression, the "real" pig
will be much more awesome and cute!)

UPDATE! It's official! "Lucy" has just made her debut and is presently on the campaign trail to end factory farming! Thanks for all the GREAT name suggestions everyone!!
