I don't want them asking me questions like "where do you get your protein from?" and "why are you veg?"
I don't want to offend anyone by bringing my own food either...
I know how tiresome it can seem to have to continually justify yourself to others. But if you look on the up side, every time they ask such questions they are giving you the opportunity to inform them about important issues. Perhaps with time and your help they'll understand why you are veg and even make that choice too.
You could always take along a plate of some yummy food to share. That way you don't look like you're just catering for yourself, and others can also try out your delish food. I often make up a dish of something tastey for Christmas. It's usually all devoured and sometimes I'll hear people remark at how great the vegan dish was
I've bookmarked the Christmas dinner page and will try something off there... and make my usual potato salad to have with my frawns (soy prawns). My b/f is working this year (night shift too) so tea will be something boring and quick - beans on toast anyone? lol
They look that real that someone was cleaning out the fridge at work last week and there was my pizza with my frawns on it so they didn't ask me if it was mine and since no one else answered they chucked it. Trying to convince them that the pizza was mine and they were not real was a hard one! "But they look so real!" Yeah well they don't taste real! Gah!
Come chrissy eve I'll be a busy little bumblebee in the kitchen, cooking up a vegan macaroni and cheese bake, some 'finals week fudge' and a batch of heavenly vegan chocolate cuppycakes..... this is the plan, anyway
My family will be having turkey, but my dad has also made vegan potato salad and vegan pecan pie
I'm in charge of the salads... I'm thinking a roasted pumpkin, rocket, pinenuts salad and carrot, apple, walnut salad. But still looking for ideas, so not sure yet.
Has anyone previously made the Vegan Easy Tofu Turkey? I'm planning on making it today, then keeping it refrigerated before cooking it tomorrow evening as i won't have time to put it together tomorrow. But as far as i can tell, it seems that the longer you leave it, the better the texture. & in my mind, leaving it to mould longer would probably make it tastier. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this?
