"This year will be a big year for recognition as we count down to a 2017 referendum. Help us get the masses moving!

The Referendum Council, set up by the PM and Leader of the Opposition to draft the referendum model, is in the process of organising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander conventions around the country, so get prepared.

We won’t be putting on these conventions, but we’ll provide you with as much information as possible as soon as we know. Watch this space!

We’re also continuing our work on the ground, holding events across the nation; talking with people in communities about the need to deal with racial discrimination in the Constitution and recognise the First Australians.

Our most recent leg of the Journey to Recognition involved us talking to hundreds of people in almost every community in the Torres Strait. These communities rarely, if ever, get the chance to be consulted and engaged with on national campaigns. It is integral their voices are heard. We will be bringing their stories to you over the coming months.

Read about what's happening in the movement below."
