"The ship's operator, Agencia Schandy, told AFP in Montevideo that those on board the Danny F II included six passengers - four Uruguayans, one Brazilian and an Australian.
The ship had left Montevideo on (Uraguay) 23 November with 10,224 sheep and 17,932 cattle, the company said. "

omg this is just horrible... a small consolation is at least it has hit the livestock company where it hurts.. in the pocket.

Just read this on vegan.com. The only other consolation is that such a tragedy will highlight the cruelty of "livestock" transport.

christ..... that's utter horror. I hope this draws more attention to live export. Those poor, poor animals

Yes! one thing i'm going to try and focus on so i don't become to depressed by the news. How horrific, i'm having trouble fathoming such a number...
