I recently got the cervical cancer needles, because hey - I don't want cancer. But these were the only needles I've had since I was 12 (I'm now 24).
Meds - unless prescribed because I NEED them... no. I only use Herron pain killers as they don't test on animals.
I am still currently on the pill - which I know is not vegan - but without it I am reduced to crawling and in severe amounts of pain for a few days each month. Does anyone have any other answers? I don't want to shovel pain killers down my throat just not to be on the pill - that many pain killers isn't good for anyone!
The only vaccine or needles i've had in years were the cervical cancer ones. Although i will avoid products tested on animals in all situations where i can, i will make allowance for something like this vaccine. Especially after i researched alternatives. There is no way to fully eliminate products tested on animals, at least not while the disgusting practice remains legal. even the products that haven't been used may very well contain ingredients that have been painfully tested on innocent animals. I'm wondering if you were trying to make a point by bringing up this topic. As you believe there are no morals when it comes to our relationship with animals, am i to assume you're in support of the outdated completely unnecessary animal testing?
I also had an implanon (got it removed acouple days ago, which i'm so happy about!), which is a form of contraception that doesn't contain animal deriviatives and was not tested on animals. Raven, this product is vegan, and works well for taking away the cause of the pain all together, the reason i went on it. but then again, i removed mine as i'm sick of the idea of filling my body with hormones, so maybe not what you're looking for. For anyone interested, its a tiny rod implanted in the arm that works for 3 years! It works on the same basis as the pill, but there are some sh*tty side effects, so i wouldn't really recommend it as i've just had to remove mine.
& i refrain from using pain killers where possible and when i absolutely have to, i use herron.
I only got the vaccines in school because my mum was making my choices then, and to be honest, I never realised they had alot of gross things in them! I thought it was just like a hormone kind of thing or an anti venom type thing. Now I'm choosing not to have vaccines as not only do I not support the animal products that go into them but I'm not comfortable AT ALL with with other disgusting things put in them. Yuck. http://www.informedchoice.info/cocktail.html is a great site for ingredients.
I'm also on the pill for cramping and excess blood flow. It's something that I NEED to be on otherwise I'm out of action for 5 days curled up in bed wishing I could end my life with a snap of my fingers. I've also just started a new pill (Yaz) which is helping me alot with depression and stress so I'm very happy to have it. Unfortunately there are no other alternatives for me yet but if one comes up I'll be first in line!
Yeah I ain't keen on the Implanon - a few friends of mine had it and 2 out of 3 had it removed due to discomfort or crap side effects. Plus the hormone thing.... I got enough of those LOL.
I try to go without the pill every now an then to see if my body is getting over the monthly saga of pain and some months yes others no, so I go back on. Soon I will be off it anyway as I want to make babies hehe
i get charlotte her imunisations im really not keen on them but i also dont want the risk of her getting whopping cough(when she was born it was going around) and all them other nasties.
but i try to research alot of the time.
its kinda a catch 22 with them really im sure one day they will have to make a more friendly version of them with out as many nasties because alot of people have reactions to them.
im not a fan of the pill creeps me out that something like that can take control of a natural thing and why the hell did they invent it so you can skip a period thats just silly its a natural thing its ment to happen for a reason.
I would have vaccines and medications, but choose cruelty free options where available such as vegan supplements, Herron etc.
I know Sarah! It's a natural thing and I heard somewhere that period pain and all the other symptoms are just preparing us for childbirth! I guess mine are never that bad so I'm lucky. The only time I withhold my period is when I'm going on holidays when there is swimming involved.
I never really gave periods that much thought before i got my implanon put it. I only got the implanon as the pain of my cramps was so intense that i was having to be prescribed very strong painkillers, and i'd had enough of it.
My doctor suggested the pill, but i'm terrible at remembering to take my supplements so i knew that would be a terrible idea. Other option, shove a rod into my arm and leave it there for 3 years! haha. I stopped getting my periods straight away and they didn't return the entire 11 months i had it. Just having it in my arm made me think a lot about what was actually in it, then the side effects started and in my opinion, something that does so many crazy things to your body can only be a terribly bad idea!
I put on so much weight, and incredibly fast as well that i knew it couldn't be anything else, plus my diet was & is the healthiest of anyone i know. & then the mood swings started, it put a lot of pressure on my relationships as for a very long time everyone, including myself, just thought it was me. Crazy i didn't realise straight away, it made me cry over the craziest things and then lose my temper of trivial stuff i knew i didn't care about! Stupid stuff like people losing on crappy game shows! hahaha. It was forever PMS.
I'm never going on the pill or anything like that. I'm now strongly of the belief its natural & your body should be left to look after its self in that department, no matter how frustrating the whole issue is! I'm just hoping i can find an alternative to help with the pain by the time my periods return.
And the best of luck with the baby mission Rav3n! How exciting!
& i hope motherhood is treating you especially well Sarah, and that bubs is happy & healthy =]
Yeah I'd get vaccines... I don't want to get really sick or anything, you know? I'd make it up to the animals later, I'd probably rescue some chickens. And medication? It's strange to think that it might not be vegan, do they test it on animals or something?
