You have most likely seen the add of T.V how Stardust Circus is comming into Lilydale (victoria) it makes me sad every time i see the add, anyway i was just wondering is there going to be any protesting on against it?
it comes on the 20th january 2010, so not long.
I'd love to do something to help those animal, any ideas?
i'll be back in melbourne by then, so i'm happy to help out.
it's probably a bit too late to organize like a serious event.
do you know if they're selling tickets at the location of the circus?
if they are, we could maybe organize some leaflets and leaflet there... we could also maybe organize some big cards with some not-so-nice photos detailing the truths behind the Big Top.
how close are you to lilydale? if close enough, maybe you could go suss it out before it opens officially. like, see if there are places to leaflet not on private property - but still close enough to the ticket sales booth (if there is one) so we can disrupt at least some sales.
... i'm not sure if they sell tickets at the location though :S
but anyway, a leafleting session there could be enough to get people, after seeing evidence of the pain the animals are subjected to, to not buy a ticket next year. maybe.
Wow... This is literally right down the road from my new house. Walking distance.
The website says that cash sales are available at the circus one hour prior to the specified show, so I'm thinking that would probably be the best place to leaflet?
I won't be in Melbourne until around the 28th-30th, but when I'm there I'd be keen to help out!
That would be great guys,
I've only started comming into protesting, I've looked at almost every australian animal right website and can't find them doing anything about the sturdust animal circus, if i did'nt do anything myself, i'd feel like im turning a blind eye to the poor animalss that deserve to be in the wild were they belong.
anyway yes i'm not far from lilydale so i will in the next few days be checking it out to see were we could do that.
im having trouble finding the time it starts, there website has not been updated.
and do you know any good places or websites where to get anti circus leaflets??
Really? It had all the information on the website when I checked. I'll copy paste it for you (:

PETA has a really extensive collection of all sorts of leaflets. lemme go look.
that's one source. i'm sure we could find more if those don't suit. if we don't find one suited for us, we can always make our own (using Australian facts).
