So I'm doing some work for Animal Lib SA, and they've asked me to write up a list of frequently asked questions by people on the topic of jumps racing, and the answers, to be made into a board that we can put up at stalls for people to read.
I'm trying to think of the questions people tend to ask me while im collecting signatures/protesting, both by genuinely interested people and the trainers/jockeys trying to defend it.
so far I have:
What is Jumps Racing?
Why are there so many accidents and deaths?
But horses are strong, why would they get hurt so often?
What happens when a horse gets injured?
I was wondering if anyone else had some ideas for questions/answers, or even just some interesting facts about horses in relation to why jumps racing is unhealthy for them, or about industry itself.
I'm trying to steer away from statistics about deaths and injuries, as Animal Lib already has plenty of posters and flyers containing them.
Thanks in advance for any help.
