I'm shocked by how many unsupportive parents are out there, I guess I am just very lucky that the day I cam home from school and announced I wanted to be vegetarian, my mum and brother decided to join me.
You are perhaps the luckiest person i know.
my brother refuses to become veg coz his an "athlete" but i sitll outperform him at all sports s veg power!
My mom wasn't exactly supportive... but she wasn't unsupportive. And eventually she started asking me to cook more and more because she loved my meals..
Maybe make the food exciting, prove to them it's not just about steamed veges!

Exactly. Because it is NEVER about steamed veges. With some creative dishes, maybe you can show them that vegetarian and vegan food is actually more exciting and more diverse than meat-based meals anyway!

Too right. And going out isn't as bad as some omnis assume. The last time I had no choice other than a garden salad was when I went to an RSL out in the country! There is a great deal of variety available.
my mum made me go vegan, but my dad said its the circle of life. so if i eat meat she'd say it make u fat boy, bad for ur health.she wouldnt even talk to me .well thanks to her i know the truth .
sorry to hear this, and good to know i'm not the only one who had trouble with parents. my mum was pretty much fine with it, but my step-dad and dad were rather iffy about it, my step-dad even saying that i was an idiot for not eating meat. dad's not so bad now, but he was rather negative when i first started.
i wish you good luck with it and hope that they come to their senses and realise that it's your life and you should be able to do what you want and eat what you want.
