okay so obviously we all know the cruelty of cage eggs! But I was just wondering if barn laid and free range eggs are actually any better to consume..? Should I believe what i read, or just cut them out of my vegetarian diet altogether? confused

While it isn't public knowledge (yet), the egg industry is one of the cruellest.

In the breeding of layer-hens, male chicks are born too - about 1/2. But because these male chickens cannot produce eggs, and do not have breast to supply for food, they are useless to the agribusinesses.

And so, they're ground up alive at just one day old.

No matter what kind of eggs you get remember that male chicks are not needed for barn laid, cage free, cage or free range eggs so in all instances they will be killed so any eggs come with cruelty and slaughter
