Well maybe we should make something like that and make thisthe movie?

The sad thing is that a lot of these practices do go on in Australia, but even when some only occur in other countries that is not good enough reason for anyone to turn their back on the animals that suffer there. A non-human animal can feel pain no matter what part of the world they are in. And industries all over the globe are connected. Australia imports products from other countries that contain animal products, and it is likely that some if not most of these products originated from these practices. There is a global market, you can't disregard the practices of other countries for this reason. That's one of the major problems i have with the excuse "but these things don't happen here" =(
I don't see a distinction between protesting the dolphin/whale murders in Japan and the horrendous conditions in overseas factory farms just because they receive more publicity.

Um, this is a good the movie is actually trying to understand the people that are doing this to the animals but in doing this it has found how pointless it all is...

but in order to make progress we need to learn to communicate more specifically listening rather than letting it all bounce of us. I think we do this because most cultures around the world are extremely primitive because success in most peoples minds requires something or some one else to fail or be left worse off for example why did you get the big plasma TV why was it important to you was it really about the quality or was it about the bragging rights, the dominance?

If only we could all just listen to each other and not be afraid of letting everything go yeah you had a house for your short life you polluted the air with all your appliances you got a big TV that you never watch because it was cool even though you work 24/7 to support your kids that are growing up to do the same repetitive thing their whole life...

So my point is the only way things work is if people work together the more teamwork there is the more productive the team is, but to be in a working team it requires that everyone is understood...

I have "earthlings" bookmarked and ready to go at home... but I haven't been able to bring myself to watch it, woriied about loosing sleep and crying for days (I'm sure you all know what I mean!)  Trying to tell myself to get ANGRY at those responsible for this type of thing, but its so hard, end up depressed and ashamed to be human.
It was amazingly difficult to get through, but I found it to be very motivating as well. I was kind of wishywashy about my veganism, stealing little naughty morsels here and there, but after watching it I haven't eaten anything I shouldn't. I just bought a copy of it, and want to make everyone I know watch it, although I don't know how I will watch it again... maybe give it a few months or so :S

I wrote a more in depth review of my experience of watching it with omni friends at the charity screening in Brisbane on my blog, if you want to check it out:

I think it would be amazing if we made a similar film specifically based on Australian industries and experiences, because I know a lot of people see these types of films and think, "well, that's just America. America is generally f*d anyway, and nothing as bad as that happens in Australia".
