I have never cried so much in my entire life.
I've already told a couple of my friends about it and they started defending humans and saying animals kill eachother etc. It is so hard to get people to listen let alone watch.
I can't understand why people are so afraid to give up meat, its not even healthy!
At the moment I am vegetarian but after this movie I am going to start converting to veganism.
Sadly I haven't watched Earthlings yet! >< I bet I'm the only one right?
I'm just really scared to be honest, I think I'll have nightmares (wait... I KNOW i will) so I'm waiting till after exams (at least then I can protest right after to release my rage... I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing).
Anyway I bought it on World Vegan Day! YAY!!!!!
So I might watch it with my cousin if she's up for it (though I already helped her convert Vegan xD).

Yeah I definately wouldn't watch it during the couple of weeks prior to needing to do exams / assignments etc, you'll be a mess. This may sound weird and at the expense of sounding quasi-religious, I felt the need to "atone for my sins" after watching it, and got really down about humanity - so doing something productive after is definately a good idea!
I've actually considered buying a number of copies and starting a blog called 'The wandering Eathling DVDs" and leaving them at random public locations with friendly notes to watch (and a disclaimer for viewer discretion), then ask viewers to post a comment at the blog and leave elsewhere in public. Unfortunately I don't have enough faith in humanity that they wouldn't just be destroyed by people who have no compassion =(

Oh wow! Awesome idea! At least hopefully you'll be able to get some of the keen people wanting to turn vegetarian (or vegan)to check it out... (or just people keen to know what its all about) I would have definitely taken a look at it before I turned vegetarian xD

I ordered a second copy of "eating animals" for that purpose I've got 3 people who want to read it once it arrives. Even my omni bf was sneaking reads over my shoulder when I was reading it, which never happens. So hopefully it has some impact!
As for Earthlings, I have it at home but I'm waiting to watch it with someone. Too scared to watch it alone :x
Im already veg going to go vegan an if i cant watch the trailer without getting upset i doubt i could sit through the whole movie but ide watch it if the rest of my family did as there major meat and dairy consumers.
A friend linked Earthlings on facebook.
I was curious.
I honestly wasn't expecting it to be as horrifying as it was though.
I watched it in bed and had 30 seconds to go before I went into literal shock, I was inconsolable, in tears and shaking.
Now, normally I am a very strong person and don't ever react to things in this way. That is the first time I have ever gone into shock over something I have just seen.
It was horrific.
I cried myself to sleep for a week after seeing it.
Not long ago, my boyfriend and I hired a movie and there was a trailer at the beginning for a movie called "Food Inc" I wasn't aware of what movie the trailer was advertising at the time, but the minute I saw chooks in tiny cages and hanging up, I freaked out and started sobbing for my boyfriend to turn the movie off because I thought it was Earthlings.
He reassured me and for the remainder of the trailer, my head was buried in the couch.
I was absolutely sick when I saw what some people do to animals.
We are the only "Gods" they know and they look to us, how can people bring themselves to harm such beautiful creatures.
Surely they are soulless beings.
i watched earthlings before i became vegan. having an idea on what its going to be like is not so much worse than someone not knowing and watching it, maybe it was just me but i dont even know how to explain how hurt, angry, devastated and upset i was, its like multiplying all these emotions by 100. i was yelling at the tv alot so its not something i would watch with my friends, but thats just me coz i get really pissed off when i see anything or anyone hurting animals and i change alot within seconds lol. before i was vegan i still loved animals to bits, so when i saw that documentary i couldnt believe how people could do such a thing to animals that cant even say their problems and suffering, so when someone says "what about human right?" i say " well human rights are important too but humans can speak out their problems whereas animals cant and someone needs to be the voice of the animals"... puts them in their place and even got one of my friends to be vegetarian i wish everyone had the courage to watch this doc
