Marinated tofu. Chop the tofu into small thin pieces and marinate in in soy sauce, pizza herbs, garlic and lots of other yummy stuff. Let the tofu soak in it for a while and then put it on top of you pizza, with all the veggies and things. When you bake your pizza, the tofu crisps up, and apparently tastes like bacon (i don't remember bacon so i can not comment on the taste). It is really nice, and good for protein too.

and also a rosted veg one - pumpkin, potato, capsicum, onion, brocoli and a sprinkling or corn and peas and spinach. Probably nice with a margherita base.
yum!

BF just brought me some hommus since I haven't tried it before, and he got some pita breads so we can have a pizza night. So I'll get to try a hommus-y pizza ecstatic Tried some of the hommus with some of the pita bread, tis nice! Trying to think what will go best with it though.

Pizza is the best!  We got given an electric pizza stone last Christmas - most awesome thing ever!

I usually put:
-tomato paste
-red onion
-leek
-fresh tomato
-sun dried tomato
-artichoke hearts
-chili: both red and jalapeno
-olives

Sometimes I use some grated cheezly (I like the supermelting edam) too.

Hommus is AMAZING.
I have it as a dip, as a spread on sandwiches & wraps, on felafel kebabs (mmmmmm......kebabs... Haven't had one in a while!), as a spread on pizza (or 'dollops' on top!), on top of nachos....so many options! lol

I find hommus usually goes well with antipasto-style vegies (sundried toms, chargrilled eggplant & capsicum, olives, artichokes etc), or really any vegetable-based pizza.
As awesome as hommus is, i don't think it would hold up very well with a 'meatier' pizza (mock mince, sausage, pepperoni, bacon etc) - i think they'd call for some cheezly, tofutti or the like happy

I got inspired to experiment with dessert pizzas a while ago. This is one of my favourites:
Cook the base first without the toppings.
Then spread on tofutti cream cheese mixed with little maple syrup.
Then add peach or nectarine slices and walnuts on top, with maple syrup drizzled over it all.
Then serve with vanilla ice cream.  ecstatic

That sounds amazing, it would go great with some sugar sprinkled on top :O
