Hi everyone,

I was just having a look at some photos from my Thailand trip and thought I would share this with you.
If you have been to Thailand you would know what I am talking about and if not, well Basically I have never seen so many stay cats and dogs in my life... Thai people cant afford to feed them selves little own look after animals, and this makes the amount of strays uncontrollable over there.
There are a lot of very sad, injured, flea infested, starving innocent cats, kittens, dogs and puppy's just wondering around with no one to help.
In thailand, Vets are rare, the people are uneducated on how to care for there pets and animals and even then, they dont have the money to do so.

While me and my boyfriend traveled around Thailand (on a large island called Koh Samui), we found one kitten that we just could not walk past.. He was tiny, starving, living under a hot piece of tin roof near a shop, it was swamp like dirty water he was drinking from, and his hole back was covered in giant Red and Black Welt things... they looked SOOO painful and he was crying... we went to the corner store and brought some food and fresh water for it but it didnt seem to want to eat it..
we walked back to our hotel room and we felt gutted... we needed to do something..
we asked the hotel if there was any Vets, they did not understand and gave us the number for the hospital.
I started going through my lonely planet book, and I came across a Dog Rescue Center!!
I couldn't believe it! We called the number and talked to the lady who told us they were about to close for the day but bring it down!
So we went back, some of the Thai people gave us a hand trying to get the kitten as it was in a tricky spot and they gave us a cardboard box, we put the kitten into the box and he just sat in there, he had stopped crying, it was like he knew we were here to help him.

We walked and walked and walked, it was hot and we had no idea where it was.. we found the Samui Dog Rescue Center (they also rescue cats)
we dropped our little kitten off, but we couldnt go into the center because it was getting cleaned.

I jumped on there web site and had a browse.... its AMAZING
what they do for these animals is something words can not explain.. Thailand is a poverty stricken country, and to see this place makes my day..

I know this is a long post but I really wanted to share with you all, fellow animal lovers and carers as I feel you will appreciate it.. (alot of people would just walk past that kitten as we were catching it with there faces screwed up, or just said in a mono tone voice.. "poor kitty" and just kept walking.

here is a link to there adoption page, its worth having a look at, as the stories are very true. also have a look around on the site, Its a really good website!!!  see what a sanctuary these people have made for these animals, the facility's they have (for thailand.. this is like heaven).

Just keep in mind that our dollar is worth SO much in Thailand.
Even a donation of $10 AU would be worth a small fortune..
I plan on going back over there to spend some good time at this place!

Thanks for reading

I was just reading about your response to the cats and dogs that you saw and wondered if your reaction would have been the same had you seen the children with twisted limbs and broken bones, laying on the street floors begging for Tourist's help...
To 'care' is a restricted feeling.

I've been to Thailand and seen these dogs/cats sad Soo sad, but you can see why it happens when you see people on the street who are worse off than some of the animals are.
