Oh, I feel your pain big time. I don't mind if my family eats meat in front of  me, but I hate it when my brothers crack jokes or try to force feed me meat. My parents sometimes even force me to eat dairy! It really makes me feel low. sad

It completely messes with my head.
I used to be able to deal/cope with it but now I'm almost always physically ill.
I can't deal with it...
I get angry and defensive because I know that they know what happened to that animal but they're still eating it. Disgusting.
I can't watch people eat dairy either but I can watch people eat eggs; barely.

I know I've only been veg for just over six months, but already the prospect of eating meat seems so unnatural to me. I think about eating a burger and a steak and go "What? Why the HELL would anyone want to do that??"

=) It's great because it means I'm literally never tempted to eat meat anymore. It just seems weird.

It's completely psychological.
What's going on in YOUR mind is "that is so wrong!".
What's going on in THIER mind is "that is so wrong!"
What's going on on the television... is completely irrelevant.
Both party's will never be right.
But, both party's will never be wrong.
Who is that someone to say otherwise? ...And why should we listen to them?
Do you believe in God?
This will make sense, if you want it to...

You will find some people will tease you about being vegetarian or vegan. But it all comes down to animals. You are not doing it for humans your doing it for the animals. A animals point of view on you being vegetarian would be a compliment!

Thats a really good point to make. Especially to those of us find it hard with our families. I can handle friends snide comments but family get to me..

My mum and dad are excepting of it, but my Sisters and brother in law  point out everytime im with them eating a meal "I think we need to eat meat, its part of who we are as humans" or they  make the typcial predictable comments like: "where do you get protien from? Your going to wreak your health if you go vegan, We are omivores and need meat in our diet" Blah blah blah.

I dont even argue because it is on wasted ears. They think their right, I think Im right. I say instead "i'm not discussing this." and leave it at that.

Im really happy I have a boyfriend who is very supportive. He basically is Vegetarian unless he buys food out or eats at someones elses house. All the groceries we buy and cook are mostly vegan (with the exception of eggs and yogurt)  He even drinks my Soymilk now!
