The exact thing that Abbie explained about the room at her school just for the indiginous students is EXACTLY what im talking about. Want to be treated as equals and just like everyone else? Yet your happy to just kick other students out of something they have a right to aswell.. Just because they didn't have a 'terrible' up bringing. In primary school my twin was picked on for being 'fat' and the guy who said it to her also said "haha, and your dads dying" (cos my dad had cancer)... she came running up to me crying saying that this certain kid had payed her out because our dad was unwell, and i approached him, and he broke my jaw.... i obviously went to the principal, and NOTHING happened because he had a "bad home life"... and it's not bad enough that your dads dying of cancer, but to have someone pay you out for it??? he may have had a bad home life, but he was just laughing about my troubles.. THAT is EXACTLY why i completely disagree with EXCUSES being made for ANYONE that has had a 'hard' life. If you commit a crime, the judge isnt gonna give a sh*t if your dad used to hit you when you were young, or you had a drug problem, or if you had different colored skin. It's not an excuse to have a special room at a school with stuff that the white people might not have had. There might just have been unfortunate white people at that school that couldve used the break too.. But they didn't give a sh*t cos they were to worried about giving the aborigionals a break

Black or white. We can all take care of ourselves. All work. All have good health. All have a good quality of life. All have health care. All work hard. All go to school. No one is TAKING schools away from you. No one is telling you you have no right to these things (in actual fact its given to you, and even then they still choose not to go to school.. as you said that thats part of the reason why they die young) .. If the schooling is cheap, whats the excuse for not going then? Because they'll be picked on? Id say this to anyone who was getting picked on about anything. Get a back bone. If you wanted to have schooling, and be there, you'd ignore what was said. I spend my school days being picked on because i had an obese sister, who i constantly stuck up for- not to mention how bad it was for her. And she is now in uni. There is NO excuse.

Again, look deeper at the long-term social injustices and equalities and you'll begin to realise why things are the way they are today.

You can't take everything at face value.

I'm not wrong though. I'm completely correct. Everyone is able to get all the right things for a good life, everything is availible to everyone. Its not like if you went to buy a house theyd be like "oooh no, can't sell to you!!" .. In fact .. Ironically .. You have it given to you!!!! Haha. Its just silly. because it's a complete contradiction. if i here someone say "i wanted to be treated equal" and then tell me they live in a house they don't pay for, or go to a school where they dont pay fee's.. im gonna say, mate, look in the mirror, your not an equal, your an exception.

Rottweiler, this is getting beyond a joke. Stop making outlandish unsubstantiated claims and calm down. This has nothing to do with jaw-breaking or obesity of someone you know.

You're honestly telling me that if I try and buy a house tomorrow I will receive it free of charge because of my heritage?

You don't own. You live in. The house is looked after. Up keep taken care of for you. It's unbelievable. If people worked they wouldnt need free housing. The aborigional communities that my uncles manage in NT they've shown me pictures of. People take complete advantage of it. And my uncles and aunts are doing it just so they don't die and go without food. They earn a very low income, and they couldnt even come see my dad in hospital when he died because there was something wrong with someones house that needed fixing, not that it was actually theirs anyway. They just live in these houses, live their normal lives, no work, have everything given to them. My auntie went to take out a group of aborigional men to fish and they gang raped her. Doesn't that sound awesome, and completely un appreciative. You get EVERYTHING given to you, completely everything. And you rape someone. That sounds like an amazing life that those people should be so proud of. But instead of living there, they could get jobs, even just "crappy" jobs like I have- but its honest, and pay for their homes, go grocery shopping and put clothes on their kids backs and not rely on someone else to take care of their children. First we take their kids, and then we have to look after them generations later. I dont quite understand. The say sorry thing these days is about pride and wanting the whites to admit theyre wrong, when we're still supporting people who just don't choose to work. I admit that was harsh. But i am in a very bad mood because your acting like you know me, and know what i'm about. Some people work their hardest only to have it all taken away, and others have it given to them on a silver platter, only to rape someone.

This has gone waaaaay off topic. Either start a new thread discussing the issue of indigenous Australians or post something more relevant. Please? *batters eyelids*

Sorry SixthStitch.  ashamed2

ON TOPIC:

If people held animals with the regard that if you do kill it yourself you can eat it, do you think that may further reduce an animal's status in society? I think it may because while humans seem to think that meat is an object and not once an animal, it may further lower their opinions on wildlife or even domesticated animals. It may be that we would see a rise in animal cruelty cases and an even bigger rise in illequipped shooters!  confused

Though, I do think it would be nobler of a person to kill an animal to eat them despite it scaring me a little that someone would have the capacity to do so.

I think change will come about in amending current farming practices. It might just be me being hopeful but surely if someone realised that change needed to occur they'd see beyond the legislation and abandon the system completely?
