leather makes me effing sick!
i was in melb dfo recently and the amount of shops i had to go to to find a pair of NON leather high boots! (i found some for $65 eventually! )
when the sales person would ask why i didnt want leather i just casualy reply i dont want to wear a dead cow on my feet.. by the reaction i get it defgets ppl thinking about it!
i think ppl just buy it because its "leather" like its some expensive form of gold or something and dont actualy think about what it is!
Hm, I see it everywhere at school cuz we are required to wear "leather" shoes (I have falsies )
When I see leather I do see the cow, unfortunately
I think I'm a bit ocd with leather, and animal fur clothing. I always check the tags of clothes to see if they are wool or leather or anything ...
So yeah, it kinda does make me uncomfortable, but I deal with it. It's just the thought of knowing that a lot of the people who wear this stuff don't realise what the animals go through
Since being Veg*n I make a concious effort not to buy it and I make a comment about leather when other people are buying things such as shoes, jackets, wallets and bags.
We just recently bought a new car and I made sure my boyfriend chose one without leather interior.
I have used the line "I don't want to wear a cow on my feet" the shop assistant really thought about it and was like "gross your right"
On this topic... are the seats in the VMAX cinema really leather or are they pleather??
Leather is supposedly more comfortable to wear, in shoes etc. I don't know about that.
Though I did used to have a pair of high heels that were soooo comfortable I could wear them for hours and hours and hours and have no pain. Recently my sister tells me that they were leather shoes that's why they were so comfortable... at first I felt sick and ignorant because I didn't know they were leather, but I actually don't know to this day whether they were leather or not. My sister does enjoy pissing me off and making me think I've eaten meat etc... even though she's a vegetarian too... ugh! Childish!
I hardly ever wear high heels, and whatever shoes I do wear, they hurt like hell. So maybe my old shoes were leather, I don't know?
