I swear by having dumped dairy from my diet. Even as a vegetarian, I used to get colds and flu frequently. I'm talking a couple of times in Winter and periodically at other times of the year. If I was around someone who had a cold or the flu, I would undoubtedly start showing symptoms within a couple of days. Not only that, but it usually took me a week to shake it, and then I would suffer from nasal congestion for about the next 3-4 weeks.
In the three Winters I have now been vegan, I have had just two minor colds that lasted barely 2 days and didn't cause me to need to take sick days from work, plus I didn't have the persistent congestion.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of health improvement just by going vegan?
Oh yeah my health did a total turnaround when I went veg. I have some problems that have improved vastly . I have more energy, less digestive issues and have not gotten sick once.
I put flax seeds on my muesli every morning. Makes it extra nommy and gives me my omega 3's. =]
I used to take spirulina but I got sick of having to take a million pills of it everyday, maybe I'll try this powder stuff. Sounds far easier. Spirulina is rather wonderful.
Besides that I eat lots of nuts and seeds. And I take a chewy vitamin C everyday with my B12. Mostly because it tastes better than my b12, but it's still probably good for me.
I'm thinking I may need to take a calcium supplement or something sice I don't really drink all that much of my rice milk in a day.

You can put chia seeds on your cereal as well; they've got a better omega 3-6 ratio then flax seed.
Also, calcium from rice milk is great but how much leafy greens; seaweeds; nuts and seeds do you eat? Those are also sources for calcium so you mighten have to worry.
If you do go with a calcium supplement use lifestream natural calcium; it's a really high potency seaweed that's ground up and is also high in trace minerals (like iodine and magnesium) and has the best absorption out of any calcium source you'll ever have. It's really amazing.
