Awww I love pets. ecstatic

I currently have 1 dog, 1 cat, 1 fish and 2 chooks.

My doggie is about 9 years old and she's a german shepherd x rottie. She is a bit of a sook but I love her. She was the last dog I'll ever be buying from a petshop again. But I'm glad we met regardless of place.  love

Maloo is my cat, she's 3 or 4. Just a tabby DSH. Funny little thing though. She's very smoochy and playful. We bought her from the RSPCA when our previous dog died. Sheba was depressed so we bought her Maloo as a friend and they are best friends now. happy

My goldfish is all alone, i've decided not to buy a friend for him because i've had a bad run of owning two goldfish together this year. One always seems to die and then when I buy a replacement the other will die. sad  I actually have a huge tank in the back room that needs cleaning out. Was thinking bout doing it up and upgrading my fish to it with a new friend or two. Might get some tiny fish for the current tank. Goldfish poison their water too fast I think. sad I even considered getting a fighting fish for the current tank coz it would be such a grand home compared to what they are used to. But I have mixed feelings about that because I don't want to support the trade by buying one. sad

And my chickens ecstatic
We bought 3 young hens last year, Harriet, Rhonda and Hermione. ecstatic But sadly hermione died within a week or two. She looked different to the other two so I have a feeling that the man might have given us two young ones and one of his older ones. They are just Isa Browns. But yea, I love the two chickens that survived.
They really do have so much personality. Whenever I go outside they race up to the fence and hang around with me. So friendly. And when we let them out of their pen they like to come up to the backdoor and call out for us.
I'd really like to have 5 (the max my council allows) so they can have a nice little family between themselves but the mess these two make is huge so I can't imagine doubling that. All the grass in their pen (half the backyard!!) has died too.
When I get my own house I will make a better set up and I will get lots of chickens. happy

Hopefully I can find a good house with a big yard. I'd be so upset if I couldn't. Most of my dreams involve having a big veggie garden, outside entertainment area and having a really nice set up for a big happy rescused pet family.

Your pets sound gorgeous!
You'll find if you can get yourself a bigger backyard you won't have the problem with the grass dying off... I'm on a quarter acre and the chooks have free range of the whole yard and actually help the grass grow with all their pooping they do happy
However I don't have much luck mulching new plants... anytime they see me mulching/planting in the garden they are right there undoing all my hard work tongue
And you'll have to have a nice high fence around your veggies too cos they love them just as much as we do!! happy
