hope everyone is e-mailing/contacting companies before posting to 'accidentally vegan lists' esp the official ones.
you find out alot more when you talk to them, you can't just go by the listed ingredients. if you take to time to contact them they usually have more information to give you, I guess they figure if you're taking the trouble... you might die if they lie to you, or something.
Message:Hi there, Are your Homebrand Baked beans Vegan, as in being no dairy in the onion powder, or any animal derivatives in any of the constituent ingredients. thank you.
Got a reply "we have received your enquiry and will respond in 48 hours."
Then 5 days later I replied to this e-mail with: Ahem.
Then got "We aim to respond within 24 hours".
This will be interesting. The point is they don't know... they are probably tracking down some third world company who gets their own constituent ingredients from America or Australia... or a myriad other 'specialty' places.
Erg I hate that these stingey companies spend so much money on unnecessary additives... PLEASE JUST BE CONSISTENTLY STINGEY. Don't pay expenses for artificial additives, flavor enhancers with no nutrient value, unnecessary coloring. I want to see the natural color of your slurry.
*sigh. that is all I ask.. be so stingey you only use basic ingredients of good quality (as in ... use water from the sky, not poison byproducts of toxic industry, which costs much more than precipitation). actually put the money from colorful facades into paying farmers a price they can live off.
The Antiox Chocolates are suitable for vegans, they contain no animal ingredients.

I found this chocolate in the health food section at Woolworths, the company confirmed that it's vegan! It's really yummy chocolate, particularly if you like dark chocolate.
Ummm......Hello? Jelly, Gelatine? aka.....................pig fat, crushed cow bones! I guess it is only a by-product but its still pretty gross.........
Aeroplane Quick Set Jelly does not contain Gelatine. It's vegan.
Hi all! Just wanted to let you know that Lowan's 'Cocoa Bombs' (available at Coles and probably elsewhere) is vegan! I have just received this email reply from my query re. the 471 emulsifier:
Dear Elisha,
Thank you for your e-mail.
We can advise that there wasn't any changes made to this product and still all ingredients are vegetable based.
Peckish sweet chilli and tangy BBQ rice crackers are pretty much the only ones without milk derivatives in the flavouring and, in my opinion, taste the best!!! Also, Kettle chilli potato chips are naturally vegan too. Aldi has German spiced biscuits that are, surprisingly enough, vegan. I can't remember the name off the top of my head... Falafels are great as well.
Thanks so much for this idea. I tried it and added a few things to it that I thought I will share. I had "So good" chocolate ice cream in my fridge so into a glass, added scoop or two, for the next layer I added a fair share of Kraft chunky peanut butter. Then crushed some Oreos (kept the icing in the middle to add later), I used the chocolate one as I cant see it not been vegan, added a layer of it, heated up some dark chocolate, added a fair layer of that on top of the oreos, placed the icing of the oreos on top of that to dip into while eating my sundae, and i think another scoop of chocolate ice cream to top it off and it was as good as or even better than the ones I used to have (when I was a vegetarian) at baskin and robbins.
