Did everybody know that jelly and low-fat yoghurt has crushed animal bones in it???

I know... it's gross isn't it?! You can buy gelatine free yogurt and jelly, i'm not sure of the brands though but i'm sure someone else will be able to help you out with that.

Absolutely. It's not just bone, I believe there's skin and hooves and stuff as well. And it's in SOOO many products. It is often used as a thickener in cream and ice cream. I have found it in icypoles, chocolate mousse, basically anything that needs a thickening agent.

Gelatine is also known as number 441, however my little vegan shoppers guide tells me that you will more likely see it listed as gelatine because instead of an additive, it is now classed as a food in it's own right.

Yep, I tell everyone this. Also dont eat lollies that alook like jelly. Hard lollies should be ok.


The other thing to think about is a dark red colour called Cochineal. Its basically in ALL blackcurrent drinks, lollies and anything dark red or purple.  labelled as "natural colour".. This is crushed bettles. Go look it up!

I LOVE telling people about this one! Can't quite work out why they are so grossed out about drinking crushed beetles, but not by eating animal flesh though!
