I assume that a lot of people watched TV on Wednesday, and were still thinking about the topic.
Ahhh that is SO fantastic. But it still does not make me a Jamie Oliver fan.
Glad you were out there, Roy.

Two of my friends have msged me saying that they no longer eat pork after watching his show, Im glad it changed some peoples minds and opened their eyes. Now we just need to get the point across that all factory farm animals are treated like this!

Hi, I'm the lady that wrote that email to Jesse, my name is Kathy and I'm a fairly new member to this site. Just wanted to say thanks for your support re my email, that meant a lot. I was so traumatised by what I saw on tv that it turned my vegetarian instantly. But you know what, after a couple of days of being unwell due to being so incredibly upset, I got on my feet, and I am now an advocate for farmed animals. I was always an advocate for domestic animals, fighting for rights say for example of dogs that are executed just because assholes want to use them for breeding to make money, when there are thousands of beautiful dogs without homes due to irresponsable people, sitting on death row. They used to sell those dogs to the university for $1, yes $1, then the uni would put them to sleep, break their legs and reset them, desex them and do random surgeries just for learning. I have been passionate about this for years. This practice of selling dogs to the uni for $1 has now been stopped due to the passionate people who fought for their rights. But now I have another passion, to educate people on the realities of eating meat.
I saw a friend of mine today that had just come out of the supermarket and offered me lunch. I did have lunch with him but explained that I am now vegetarian and would not eat any animal product whatsoever, so I had a lovely vego lunch. I discussed that show on pigs with my friend, to which he responded that he couldn't bear to see it and changed the chanel, he didn't want me to talk about it because it was putting him off. Well tough, he was going to hear it. I learned a huge lesson the hard way, and what I now believe in is that if people want to eat meat then they should know the truth before they made a conciencious decision. Ha, the end result of me telling him what they did to that pig, he had bacon in his shopping and he said he wouldn't be eating it, bit of a joke but he tried to give it to me for my dogs.  I put him off bacon for good, then I worked on all farm animals. He then told me how his dad was a vegetarian, and how there must have been good reason for it. I know I got him thinking, and seriously repulsed him. By mid next week, I'm going to have him converted, you watch me! I have a mission now. I must say that I am taking the whole vegetarian thing better than I thought, I have wanted to do it for years anyway but the problem was always that I don't really like many vegetables. But now with my new outlook on life its not hard, I don't think of it as having to eat vegetables, I think of it as refusing to eat a murdered animal and how awful it is what they go through. I feel like a whole new person these days, and I'm surprised at myself. The problem now is how do I deal with what the world does, eating animals, its everywhere, and when I think of global companies like Maccas, it saddens me to think of how my tiny little plight seems so useless. All I can do is my bit, and edecuate as many people as I can. I would llike to see that programme aired once again, for it is so affective, maybe others like me, that have lived a sheltered life, not really knowing the truth, will have their eyes opened too. Poor farm animals, they don't hurt anything do they. I was shocked on the show to see people eating pork in the studio after seeing that pig killed, and right there next to the pigs on stage. How messed up is that, can you imagine how it would be if it were the humans being eaten in front of other humans, thats so gross. ewwww. Well thats it for now, I just thought that I would touch base. kathy

I thought it was funny though how the audience and Jamie seemed so discusted and horrified while witenessing un-anesthisised(sorry cant be bothered spelling it correctly)  pig castration and pig slaughter, but seconds later Jamie was enthusiasticly showing the audience how to cook pork dishes which they couldnt wait to try.confused

Still I have to admit, whether he intended to or not, I think Jamie did a great service to pigs bcoz many carnivores watching would think twice b4 eating ham after seeing that content.
