What does being on the committee involve?
Possibly the last week of november, we are trying to get as many people interested as possible. so we are trying to drag the commitee meeting back as far as we can.
As an incorporation we are seen a a legal enitity by the state so therefore we can sue and be sued, its better becoming inc.d so that if any problems arise no sinlge member can be attacked legally, the incorporation acts an umbrella. We also are able to get many kinds of grants and fundings in order to get campaigns up and running, land and so on. So in order to be an inc.d oraganisation we must have a commitee of 7 members of whom have several imporatant jobs in order for the group to function. The commitee is comprised of a secretary, president,treasurer. These roles are vital to help the group run, and as a commitee member you are able to listen to what the members want to act on etc. and bring that to the groups attention. The Resistance wants to have its members and commitee members instigate what the oraganisations direction, regarding campaigns how when and why so on so forth. There are so many associations out ther that do amaazing work but dont always address what society at that point in time is concerned about.
