Bugger indeed.

Are you a heavy exerciser?
You can lose alot of iron through excessive sweating etc....
Nar, I dunno what my deal is. Hehe. But I know a few people - from long term veg to omni- who are taking iron tablets lately. I have a conspiracy theory that our food is losing its nutritional value due to over-farming. But nothing to back up that statement  laugh
Oh definitely! I agree.
Food is nowhere near as good as it used to be.... Its all about how fast they can produce it and how long it can last on the shelf etc.... not how good it is for us....
Can't wait to finally get my veggie garden up and running...
Maybe try getting your fruit and veg from an Organic Farmers Market?
I know Eumundi Markets have some great organic produce, its tastes amazing!!!

Eat heaps of pumpkin seeds too and black strap molasses, green leafy veg, wholegrains, lentils, beans (I'm sure you would anyway) etc......

I am almost at the 6month mark aswell going to get a blood test soon, will report back!! fingers crossed.......

I take Freeda B12 lozenges. And I was surprised how yummy they are! I'm vegan and my B12 is good, but I don't normally consume fortified B12 products so I take it as a precaution.

Amelia, some ppl can't absorb iron properly... but are you sure you are eating properly? I'm vegan and my levels are normal. And I don't eat healthy all the time, but make an effort to eat properly *if that makes sense, lol*

I will look out for those lozenges, thanks for the tip! I am quite sure I'm eating fine. Might have a chat with dietician friend and see what she reckons. Her class recently did a course on meal planning, and they included veg and vegan meal plans! Glee!! It's great to know the future of that field is in good hands.

I eat some silly snacks but I also have 3 good meals a day. Never skip a meal coz I'll keel over! Hoping that if I switch to donating just plasma instead of whole blood, that it might help the situation. Will have a chat with doctor about it. I'm not too worried, just annoyed!

PS thanks for the link, will check it out!

Oooh good luck with yours! I'm sure it will be fantastic. I've seen your food photos wink

Super keen to get a veggie patch started. Bought Mum the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Companion for her birthday recently. It is the most glorious book. Half "gardening", half "what to do with the stuff". Absolutely amazing. Heaps of veg*n delights.
