hahah 600 is sorta like my limit because me and my mum are going halves, but i was consdiering getting it made but they said starting price is 700! because of the fabric and extra work and stuff but my ball isnt until march so i have some time
ask around coz i got a dress made for me that was medieval so alot of fabic was used and it cost me only 250 and it was good quality too im sure you can find somewhere that will do the exact style you want for a lower price
any recomendationnsss?
I got this dress from ebay for $69 for a party and for Dracula's on the Gold Coast.
haha, my formal dress cost $90, and I didn't even want to spend THAT much!
For my year 12 formal I was happy to get a $70 dress but my Mum said it was more cocktail than formal so she didn't let me get it. My Aunt ended up buying me a dress which was around $350. I would have been much happier with the cheaper one as it cold have been worn again for different occasions. I'm never going to wear the formal dress again, and I feel so wasteful

That's the same with my year 10 dress. I can't wear it anywhere At least with my year 12 suit I can wear it on job hunts etc
I hope your aunt isn't the type of person to guilt you about her spendings on your dress? My mother constantly reminds me about how much she spent on my yr10 dress as though I forced her to buy it for me... the other way around actually.
Haha! Yeah, the most I've paid for a dress is $350!
As some others have asked is there a reason it has to be online? If you're willing to spend that much, you're better off going to a store and trying it on, otherwise you may find it doesn't fit properly or the item isn't exactly what was advertised.
I usually shop at Myer, Bardot, Forever New, Forcast or Harts.
I'm boycotting Forever New as they steal designs from artists.
Really?! Never heard about it, but then again I'm not surprised! How did you find out?
A friend of a friend had her design stolen... EXACTLY... and put on a t-shirt in their stores. There was nothing that she could do about it, so she couldn't even get any money from Forever New.
I'm dreading the day that one of my works is stolen and put on some crappy clothing.
Man! That's horrible! Can she go to court or something? But I guess it would be costly and time consuming and don't know what the chances of winning are like. Can't believe they did that!

She spoke to a lawyer, but he told her that there's nothing that she can really do. Even with a watermark on your works are you still unprotected
It sucks! I don't know what I would do if it happened to me. I mean, it costs so much to have your works properly protected with copyright and everything and even then it's no guarantee.

....you're not serious?
How can it not be copyright..
its something a person CREATED
why should you have to pay money just to say "this is mine?"
That is so f**ked up and makes me pretty angry..

If you get a certificate of authenticity, I suppose that would be like the minimum required as proof that you created it... But that costs a lot of money... and I've got 100+ works... there's no way I could afford that.
Did you read the blog? She also wrote about this girl whose logo was stolen by Alannah Hill. Alannah Hill also steals clothing designs. Not sure if that's in the same blog, but I did see somewhere an item of clothing copied exactly by Alannah. SHIT!
I also found another example of theft. A company in NZ (I think it was... don't quote me) actually bought a dress from a small designer in Oz, and then just copied it and sold it for HEAPS of money.
