I spotted this in Woolworths last night & bought some!
I think it was about $8 for a 1kg tin and its just malted barley (what they put in your milkshakes/soyshakes)

It contains no fat and is a natural source of b1, b2, b3, b6, b12
contains not artificial colours or flavours, is GM free & is also a source of amino acids

per 35g serve it says it has 2.4mg of b12???

Man it tastes so good, I'm having it with soy milk right now happy

Ooooh. This sounds like a good alternative to milo????

I had a huge tin of milo from before veganism, i'm finishing it off and not buying anymore. Would love a vegan version though!! Especially a healthier one.
Is the b12 a good source I wonder?

I will check it out, thanks for sharing happy

Well if your going by mg then yes, its fantastic, 2.4mg per 35g is good!!
But whether or not its available to your body to be absorbed?? I don't know.
Breadman would be a good one to ask though!!

I've never heard of this before. Sounds good! Much nicer than the weird chicory coffee type replacement I tried once blergh! Though thats kinda completely different, I guess. In fact, I have no idea what Malt Extract tastes like!

even if it did, it would be a different constituent of calcium.. the body I ASSUME NEEDS VARIETY....

You aren't going to find LIFE PLASMA which you can ingest with out noticing...

at this point in time...

Brocolli apparently does and iron I guess, hence the green foliage.

It probably does to some extent... but... there are plenty of sources of calcium...

ALSO the human body is like that of a ruminant grazer in that its threshold of usability of a great input is fixed in small amounts accumulating over time....

hence a 800000mg b12 tablet... is as effective as a 8 mg one....

>_< I make up numbers... but.... the body uses it in small amounts and variety of sources as the structure is different at a molecular level hence reacting to your entire body differently...

FOR INSTANCE....

to give context of complexity

Hiccups:

"the tendency to hiccup is reduced if the level of carbon dioxide in the blood is raised. this is most easily achieved by holding the breath for as long as possible or by re-breathing air in a small plastic bag"

Hyperventilating:

"applied to a degree of deep breathing which is inappropriate to the oxygen needed which, as a result, causes excessive loss of carbon dioxide from the blood. This leads to a reduction in blood acidity. This in turn affects the amount of CALCIUM in the blood and brings about various changes in the conductance of nerves so that certain muscle groups, such as those of the forearms and calves, may go into intense spasm."

sexy calcium stories
