Becoming vegan was a transitional thing for me though. It took me about a month to become vegan. I kept slipping up with mint slice biscuits! Haha.
Have you ever tried mintons (vegan mint slices)- they're yummy!
Yes! I only recently found them! Words cannot explain how happy I was. haha
nom nom! choculence are good too (vegan tim-tams). I made choc-chip bikkies the other day and used cut-up minton and choculence instead of choc-chips. Yum!
I don't think I liked the choculence.....
There was something I didn't like, it may or may not have been them! Haha
But putting mintons in bikkies as choc chips sounds sooooo yum! I shall have to try it. I recently mastered baking cookies, so I have been baking them non stop lately!
stumbling across unleashed when doing environmental studies gave me the courage to step it up a notch and go vegetarian.. i finally gave fish the flick, eliminated yoghurt, significantly reduced my cheese consumption and began to buy more ethical cosmetics, hair products, toothpaste etc.
Alot of the times in my young life i thought "why eat a pig if its just as smart as our pet dog .. we dont eat him" but my mother always told me "eat what your given"
i only recently completly cut off meat product becuse of constant reviewing of horrible stories and videos of how most animals are treated during the process of containing their meat.
Meat is nothing but decaying flesh .. and we eat this? ick

When I first became vegan I ate so much chocolate and choc biscuits. I think it was me just adjusting to giving up chocolate. I don't really like anything like that anymore. The biscuits always seem so sweet.
I used to absolutely love Tim Tams so they're no comparison (still good, but not Tim Tammy )
I've been vegan 12 years, and I changed from vegetarian straight away as soon as I saw ALV's dairy write-up on their website.
I went vegetarian 6 years before that at age 14. I was in the library not long after seeing a video in my Personal Development class on animal testing.. I was the only person out of 31 kids who cried. I looked up animal cruelty after that, and that was it.
Well, I have always been an Animal lover, but the thing that actually made me think about becoming one was the episode of the simpsons that Lisa goes vegetarian! Haha!
So i decided to do some research, came across AA and AAU, and it was AAU that ended up turning me Vegetarian, and now I am turning Vegan! (Almost there, too!)
Was watching this video on p.e.t.a one night about abattoirs and the disgusting things they do there, and from then on i vowed to myself never to be an accomplise in the slaughter of animals! and so far ive saved 792 innoccent animlas whome might have ended up in the slaughter house of horrors
For me it was an FB group which was supporting an increase on the maximum penalty for animal cruelty (in relation to someone having cut off the ears and tail of a puppy). A bunch of "crazy vegans" had managed to become embroiled in a quite heated FB wall debate with omni "animal lovers" (who were more than happy to contribute towards the cruelty of non-canine animals and were quite vocal in their right to do so).
I read one of their postings in a discussion on the moral schizophrenia of carnism exhibited by people who object to animal cruelty, claim to love animals and yet continue to eat them. I realised that I was one of those blissfully unaware people and after watching Earthlings, I made the transition to veg
Prior to that I had stereotyped vegans to typically be bongo-playing weed smoking hippies who lived in communes and had ideals that were unattainable for people living in the real world. How wrong I was!
I was 9 years old when i went vegetarian. I always loved animals .When made the connection at 8 that my meal was an animal i was so upset. My mum made me eat it for another year till she was sick of fighting with me. As I learnt more about animal rights I became veagn at 15.My mum and sister went veg a few years later.
I could never imagine hugging an animal and eating another... my favourite quote has a beautifull picture of a cow, next to this it says I look at you in peace now I dont eat you anymore ...
