Well the problem with us humans is we are breeding at an exponetial rate, and exponetial rates usually only stop once the species has reached the carrying capacity - not enough resources including land. This is why the growth of humans was relativly stable till around the 1600's i think it was when the euros began colonising so we had much more land to live on pluss health began to improve.

What we need to do is design sustainable cities. VERY HIGH DENSITY! We need big dense cities with lots of mixed use buildings - shops on the first floor, then some office floors and then some aprtments. And its not like everyone has to live in apartments, townhouses and terraces are much more sustainble. We really can't continue to have so much land to ourselves, we really need to end the old 3/4 acre block house. We need to build up not out.
Completely agree.
That plus controlling human population.
Yeah i think we should have the 1 child policy all across the world but put into phase in an appropriate way.
Also i know this sounds cruel, but do we really need to cure every human disease?

You just need to genetically neuter people at birth and then after they've passed appropriate tests (social and genetic) you can restart it.
Yeah, we do. Undue suffering is cruel.

That's one of the reasons I wouldn't donate to some charities. I know a lot of people would disagree but not much is being done to control the ever expanding population, at least disease kills a lot of people.I think disease is good (well not good, just at least it slightly helps our population), but I'm a hypocrite and I don't want anyone I know to die :/

...Then again I would so much rather all diseases be cured and a 1 child policy or neutering at birth be compulsory

Yeah that would be great! It would be so hard to make this socially acceptable though.

I think a limited child policy would be very hard to 'police'
People are still going to get pregnant & then what forced abortions?

I think it's more about being smart & living sustainably & also teaching our children to be sustainable beings, raising them as veg*ns, teaching them how to become self sustainable & how important it is. I won't be sheltering my children, I will be teaching them we are living in a dying world & it is OUR responsibility to contribute as little as possible.

The youth is our future! IMO we would be better off everyone having 2-3 eco smart children raised to make a difference than everyone having 1 meat eating, petrol guzzling, wasteful, greedy, child.
