My profiles on various websites actually come with a disclaimer now- from the amount of mail I recieve about "WHY THE HELL DO YOU DO THAT?" asides from asking "Why the hell not?" I usually hit them with this:

I was NOT put on this Earth to please you. My modifications are my lifestyle, and I shall choose to do whatever I want to my body. Granted you may not see them as aesthetically pleasing- but I don't want to hear it. I have transcended giving a flying f**k about what anyone has to say about my body- I will do what I want to it and nothing you can say with phase me or change that one bit.

Etc >:3
There's no need to attackpeople with the curiousities of why you do these things, though. Nobody is telling you what to do, they just don't understand the motivation. I think asking someone why they get a modification is a pretty standard acceptable question. It goes against nature u know? So it's natural to be curious about it. I mean things like breast implants are clearly understandable...tongue splitting and horns? Not so much.

I am no closer to understanding lol.
Why are breast plants clearly understandable? Because society says nice big breasts are good?

everybody has their own idea of beauty, that isn't that hard to understand?
Yeah..i think other mods are more favorable than breast implants, lol

sounds like you're saying well they're understandable because lots of people do it and lots of people like it, so its alright..but other implants and modifications? Why would you do that when not as many people like it?

if it was switched and lots of people had mods like that because that's how society worked, and fewer people had breast implants, you'd be saying the same thing..

"horn implants and tongue splitting i can understand, but breast implants i dont get!"
breat implants? hahaha more like breast reduction for me. i dont think big breasts are as favoured anymore i think theyve gone out of fashion. who would want ginormous breasts anyway? too much to handle hahahaha

haha sorry going back to the vegan stuff but isnt a person asking someone who likes body art "WHY THE HELL DO YOU DO THAT?" kind of like asking a vegetarian "why the hell are they vegetarian?"

Might be a bit late in this convo :S but here are mine:

OO Gauge ears (I get most of my jewellery from the US, I think it's 11mm?)
6 other ear piercings
tragus
Septum
2 x nostril
Medusa
Snakebites
VCH

1 tattoo

Just pulled out my microdermal on my sternum for the 3RD TIME!
The first two times I poped it back in, and babied it like a new piercing for a few weeks and seemed to heal ok. The last time was when I was asleep, didn't realise until the morning and didn't feel confident in getting it back in the hole.
I do a lot of my own piercings (I have proper needles and everything) and have just gotten some dermal punchers so I might experiment with redoing my sternum again.

My favourite was my vampire bite, but was ripped out twice. Necklaces didn't like it and then my chiro kept on knocking it.
That one was done by a piercer, and said instead of a bar, two microdermals would be better, and less likely to get ripped out. I just really liked the idea of having the metal bar in my neck ecstatic

Once I get my back in shape, I might get it redone (yes, with a bar and not microdermals happy )

I just got a pack of 100 play piercing needles. Can't wait to attach feathers and use them for a photoshoot!!

I'm getting myself a tattoo this week, just a small peace symbol.

Going to do it myself so i am going to do it somewhere people won't see much so if i screw up it won't be visible at all times.

I'll let you know how it goes ecstatic

I hope you meant to say "going to do it for myself" and didn't mean you were going to do the procedure by yourself :O

*exasperated sigh* As I just turned 17 this November and therefore need my parents permission for piercings and tattoos, I only have my ears done once.

I WANT my nose done, my lip done (one on the side) a second hole in my right ear, maybe belly-button.
I also want several tattoos.
What? Ove here you just need to be 16 with ID xD
When did they implement age limits on piercings? Have to say I havent thought about that in ages. I never even heard they were doing it.
I was 14 or 15 when I got my 1st.

I hope you understand the dangers involved in that, and the end product won't look as great as if you were to have it done by an artist. There is also a risk of infection.

I would just pay the $100 it's probably going to cost to have it done by a professional.

Backyard tattooing is illegal

I understand the risks, don't worry. This is just a small one anyway. I have fresh needles so there's little chance of infection.

By the way, i just checked and it's not illegal to tattoo yourself, only to tattoo others without a licence.
