My profiles on various websites actually come with a disclaimer now- from the amount of mail I recieve about "WHY THE HELL DO YOU DO THAT?" asides from asking "Why the hell not?" I usually hit them with this:

I was NOT put on this Earth to please you. My modifications are my lifestyle, and I shall choose to do whatever I want to my body. Granted you may not see them as aesthetically pleasing- but I don't want to hear it. I have transcended giving a flying f**k about what anyone has to say about my body- I will do what I want to it and nothing you can say with phase me or change that one bit.

Etc >:3
There's no need to attackpeople with the curiousities of why you do these things, though. Nobody is telling you what to do, they just don't understand the motivation. I think asking someone why they get a modification is a pretty standard acceptable question. It goes against nature u know? So it's natural to be curious about it. I mean things like breast implants are clearly understandable...tongue splitting and horns? Not so much.

I am no closer to understanding lol.

Why are breast plants clearly understandable? Because society says nice big breasts are good?

everybody has their own idea of beauty, that isn't that hard to understand?

I dont think that was meant to be taken as attacking people. I thought it was well pointed out.

How can breast implants be understandable to you when other implants are not?

Do you wear make up or colour your hair. That's modifying your look too. It's just different types of changing the way you look to suit yourself.

It's simply what society decides is "normal" and we're on the other side, the same as we are as vegans.

Sorry, I hope I dont sound abrupt.

I just dont get how you can compare some modifications that you understant and not others which are so similar, eg getting implants in your boobs or in your arms etc.

Well it sounds like a defensive attack I think. But anyway...breast implants I understand because large breasts are favourable in this society. It needs no explanation. I just wanted to understand better about tongue splitting, horns and other odd mods, that's all.

It's just one of those things that people do for themselves, it really has nothing to do with anyone else.

Just as some people don't get why others would get breast implants, some people can't understand why someone would get implants in your arms, just as some people can't understand why other people would get tattoos or piercings, or even dress a certain way or have a certain hair colour. It's just doing things to make you feel comfortable with your own body happy

I remember thinking that the implant thingies where they put different shapes under your skin would look rad (horns, stars...).  But I don't think they do that in Australia...  Not sure.
Ahh .. i just looked at some photo's of implants. They just made me cringe. I still feel yuk. I seriously dont even know what to say. They are just blaaargh.scared

I kind of get it... Kind of, aha. I think I like the natural look better, although I do want some tatts.. But when it comes to cutting up parts of your body, eek! I dunno. To each their own though  innocent
