i want to know & i've been wanting to know for a while now.
honey, is it okay?
i mean, it comes from an insect.. not an animal
& they surely do die if they don't create honey..

i try to stay clear due to it being in the grey area..

what do you think?

Aaaah, the age old question! I believe there are a lot of people either side of this fence... Personally I've never liked honey so it's not something I've put much thought into.

I think bees are cool, tho happy

To go along with the typical three word mantra's, eg. "Meat is murder", "Dairy is rape", then "Honey is theft".

I'd say it's something to avoid, although it's my understanding that non-native bee farms are also used by (some) fruit farmers, so I wouldn't advocate being overly zealous about it, seeing as it seems to be something that we're somewhat complicit to regardless.

I used to love honey before i went vegan. When i went vegan honey was defiantly out of the question. In my opinion honey isn't vegan.

As Nathanael said - theft. But it still seen as a swinging door to some ppl. I see it as non-vegan.

Why bother with honey when there is golden syrup?

Well, im vegetarian. but i dont seem to eat honey that much. It depends on how i like it, one of my mates on a farm used to make honey. That was pretty much the only honey i used to eat, now i dont really eat honey.

Honey is not vegan, being vegan means not taking/using any animal products happy
