First up apologies for yet another "who is from QLD" topic.  They seem to pop-up every few weeks

Just scoping out interest from QLD people who might be keen to meet up for a vegan lunch / dinner.  I've tried hardly anything here apart from Loving Hut (Mt Gravatt) so I figure I've got a lot of exploring to do.  Might try to split between different cities if people are based in each of Brisbane and the nearby coasts.  Partners / bring a friend etc welcome

Anyway if you're interested post your time / date / weekday vs weekend / location preferences and will try to coordinate something - possibly on a regular basis if I don't completely dislike you all wink j/k

Me:  I live on Northside (Chermside) and am available pretty much anytime with sufficient notice.  I work full time (also in Chermside) but my hours are really flexible to the point where I can take a whole day off without anyone caring.  I drive so location isn't a problem.  Can't do any dates between 21-30th Jan

I think that's it.  I should add that I'm extremely indecisive too so I'll randomly throw out a starter idea of My Heart Garden (St Lucia, international cuisine) lunch at midday on Sat 15th Jan

Hey Mark,
Yep am definantly interested, I just moved from Mt Gravatt to Coopers plains (facinating I know), never tried that place, but should. Define normal.... lol. I will be there if confirmed. Anyway what are you doing for new years? I am undecided.... think me and my man will stay in a hotel and walk down and watch the fireworks at riverbank.  peace

Sounds awesome, I won't be able to join in until I get my license though, but that's not too far away!
Not much happens around QLD, or near enough to me anyways, it's about time we changed that.

I would just love to meet up with a group of veg heads who are close by. I dont think that date will suit me because I work Saturday mornings, unless we make it an evening. I live in Birkdale (out near cleveland) and I work in Moore (Near blackbutt, up north) sometimes and in Lowood (near gatton) sometimes (I'm doing yearling prep on harness racers so it's 6 days a week).

I go to Loving Hut ALL THE TIME. So it'd be grand to do something there. I've probably seen some people from here without even knowing!

I am from Upper Mt Gravatt and have another three veg*n friends I could probably persuade to come.

So long as the places you're intending to have meetings are near public transport, I am keen.  I always enjoy meeting new people and talking with them and I wouldn't mind trying out new food.

I'm currently in Melbourne exploring here but I get back on the 12th happy.  If I manage to not forget in between all the travelling etc I will try and get my butt there on the 15th happy.

If you end up making a mailing list, meetup group or Facebook group or whatever, message me on my profile to grab my details ecstatic.

Hi everyone

I'm thinking Kuan Yin (Fortitude Valley) might be better because it's heaps easier to get to using public transport (it's about 2 min walk from Valley train station).  The place is very similar to The Loving Hut in terms of food although it's not as spacious inside which sucks because they might hussle us out after we're done

http://my247.com.au/brisbane/Kuan-Yin-Tea-House.25540

If we went on Sunday then anyone who drives should be able to get street parking easier / cheaper.  Plus it'd be less busy than Saturday because valley markets are on Sat

Date: Sunday 16th Jan
Time:  midday
Venue: Kuan Yin Tea House
Cost:  It'd be hard to spend more than $15, most meals are around $9

Also let me know if you can do Friday night 7pm dinner instead (also at Kuan Yin) as an alternative option in people interested can't make Sunday

Can anyone coming please confirm for numbers by Tuesday and I'll make a booking (if they take them).  I'll re-post update Wednesday (might be a good idea to meet in the valley mall a bit before midday and will give you my contact details... or if people are keen but can't make it, might postpone etc)

It feels kinda creepy to instigate meeting randoms on the internet wink worst case come along to VVSQ dinners as heaps of people go to those (myself included... except for the next three due to a series of weddings)
