Was wondering if anyone here knows if you're permitted to bring outside food and drink into Soundwave?
I couldn't find any info on their website, and there is mixed information on the discussion page.
I already sent them an email, but in the meantime it would be great if someone knew the answer
Soundwave organisation is fairly crappy. I've been a few times. One time they checked my bag and I couldn't take in food or drinks: and other times they haven't even checked my bag or ticket (I could have gotten in for free!). It can't hurt to try and pack a little something just in case you get away with it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't allow it.

I was at Soundwave in Brisbane last year for AA (they won't be there this year), and I took my own food, but they didn't even check my bag when I went through the staff entrance.
There were a few vegan options for sale (vegie burger and a vegetable curry, I think) if your food gets confiscated, just ask the food stall staff.
You probably should have received a reply from them by now, but if not;
I believe you can bring a bottle of water in, with the lid off (and thrown out), and one piece of food.
It's weird that the two of you before me have said they didn't check your bags. They do it religiously here in Melbourne. They even throw out things like hairspray and full drinks!
I guess it varies every year and every state.
I think my plan is going to be stuffing some protein bars into my shirt or pants, since I'm not bringing a bag (done that before, not again. haha). They usually have free drinking taps set up, so if you didn't want to buy a drink you could just use them.
Thanks for the replies.
I still haven't received an email from them yet :/
Yeah at other gigs I have had water and food thrown out many times before. So I didn't want to pack heaps of food just to have it all thrown in the bin lol.
I found this on their website (Sydney):
"You are permitted to bring 1 empty water bottle and sandwiches to the show. However, please do remember that we’re most likely in for a long day and food can spoil.
No fruit will be allowed." http://www.soundwavefestival.com/venue-info/sydney
