Try mrs flanneries for NY or health food shops. It's great! I use it in so many foods!
Eg. Pizza cheese sauce=win!

Also I notice 'novo shoes' has mostly man made materials!happy

If u have an iPhone or itouch, download 'whole foods', it's awesome.

Pluuuus, any recipe for food u want is literally at your fingertips. Every recipe I've tried I've found through googlehappy

I get awesome recipes from vegweb:  http://vegweb.com/
It is an american site, so you need to convert measurements and stuff in some recipes. They have a corn dog (dagwood dog) recipe on there, and it is freaking awesome!! Here: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=15260.0
btw, cornmeal is polenta.

Sorry, I'm not much help.

Congrats for going vegan!!! I'm still not quite there yet.
Take your time! I tried rushing it before and I got confused and just went back to eating easy meals and just avioding milk and eggs. Ive been vegetarian, including not eating milk and eggs for 10 months now happy and my boyfriend 6 months now
You should try this cake out. Its ready in less time than it would take to get your utensils out.

That's fantastic!! The 7pm report was the exact right push I needed to finally go vegan also, and I cleared my pantry of all non-vegan-friendly products last night. I had my first vegan FAIL this morning when I got to work and automatically made a mocha (as usual) on the coffee machine. I think going vegan will be a little harder than vegetarian and there may be stumbles, but we can do it!
There is heaps of stuff online, you can pretty much get anything on Google; when I Googled a few things I got heaps of results. I also checked out the Cruelty Free Shop, and it has some amazing products (like vegan Tim Tams!!! Awesome!). There's also another one, www.greenedgeonline.com.au, which has heaps of stuff, but is rather pricey.
I noticed that quite a few of these vegan products are also sold at Woolies and the organic health food shops, so if you have any of those nearby, maybe you can check them out?
Also, www.vegiedelights.com.au has some yummy looking, easy recipes, with videos to show you how, which is pretty brilliant.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll go great with the veganism. And sorry if other people had already told you these things, I'm at work so didn't get to read all the posts  ashamed2

The most AMAZING vegan choc chip cookies you will ever make.  I promise. I make them for my staunchy carnivore friends and they prefer these over the subway ones.

I modified the recipe from vegweb http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=6391.0

   2 cups SR flour
   1/2 teaspoon salt
vegan chocolate or carob chips (i usually use 1 block of 70% dark lindt chopped up)
1 cup raw sugar (i use 1/2 brown sugar, 1/2 raw)
1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
   1 teaspoon vanilla essence
   1/4 cup water

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 175C.  In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt. Stir in choc chips.

2. In a medium size bowl, add together sugar and oil; mix well.  Add the vanilla and then add the water; mix well.  Add the wet to the well in the dry. Mix it well but be careful not to overwork it.

3. Roll them into balls and flatten them onto baking trays lined with baking paper.  Bake for about 10 minutes if you want chewy cookies, and 12-15 min for crunchy.  The cookies will harden up some as they cool. I usually go in two minute increments from here until they get to where I like them.

4. Take them out when they are done and let cool on the trays for 10 minutes.  Move them to wire cooling racks. If they split or come apart when you try to remove them let them sit on the pan for a while longer before transferring them to the racks.
