Uh, no miss monster, your wrong. Not sure where you heard that lost, but its total shit. Yes, pregnant women should stay away from lots of things. For eg, SOFT cheeses (camembert, brie etc) salami, SOME seafoods etc. But no, pregnant women do not need to stay away from milk, yoghuty etc. Total crap.
I would think that as a mother you would not be drinking cows milk in the first place. Surely you would not want to consume a product that is the result of another baby being slaughtered just so you can have the milk intended for it. How can someone so selfish properly raise a child?

Actually, I believe that vegan and vegetarian mothers have a lower rate of miscarriage, a lower chance of both gestational diabetes and preeclampsia.  Children born to vegan mothers are less likely to be obese in adulthood.

Not to mention the fact that both meat and dairy are known causes of cancer, heart disease, diabetes...  happy birthday, kid!

EVERY SINGLE pregnancy book I have looked at indicates that vegan and vegetarian pregnancies are perfectly fine, and my doctor seems particularly happy with my veganism.

As has been said, plant sources of iron and calcium are absorbed by the body better, and a lack of animal-protein actually aids in the strenghtening of fetal skeletons.

Sorry B&S, but what you're sprouting is BS and I trust my doctor over you to tell me what's good for the tiny human I'm growing inside me.
Congratulations on your pregnancy & for giving your baby the best possible start to a healthy life!

Thanks Dorit!  I actually wasn't really planning on announcing just yet.  But I can't sit by and listen to someone tell me I should poison my child.

Again, sources, evidence. I don't see any, you're just insulting someone's unborn child.. Why so belligerent?

Actually, none of my care team are vegan.  None of them, from what I know, are even vegetarian.

None of them even batted an eyelid when they read on my chart that I was vegan.

Oh - and the only reason it was ON my chart is so the doctors can find me vegan versions of any medication I might need if it's possible.  NOT so they can 'keep an eye' on my health.  Which is perfect.

99% of us on here have omni doctors. Is it so hard to believe that an omni doctor can be in total support of our lifestyle choice?

Seriously - why are you on here? Are you bored? If you have kids, that would (or should) mean you are a mature adult. Not what I am seeing. Great example to set for your kids.

What is the big problem if we have healthy iron levels, B12 levels, get adequate calcium, vit D, etc etc, and pass that on to our children? My doctor continues to tell me how healthy my blood is, better than any omni's blood he's ever seen. Why's that? Wow - no cholesterol for starters!
