Im sorry that you're going through this.

Basically I told my family that if they didn't want me pushing my views on them then they need to stop pushing their views on me. Theyre supportive now but at first they were worried about me getting sick and everything. Its hard because no matter what, you're going to hear the comments from someone. But we're here and we understand happy There's plenty of us here you can talk to.

You have us that understand or are on your side (if we arn't vegan), we are here to support you.

Some people dont understand unfortunatly or perhaps they may get worried your making the wrong choice (although you know your making the right one by you). Your parents will love you no matter your choice, they are probably just concerned.

Be yourself, i know it seems tough now, but you will be so happy to be your own person in the end.

Please talk to us if you still feel distressed about this, you can pm me if you like, some other people may say the same thing  happy

I have the same prob. Last night, everyone was ganging up on me saying "god put animals on this earth so we can eat them!" blah blah, and I just lost it! I burst out crying, saying that "yeah, god put animals on this earth so we can eat them, not treat them like pieces of worthless crap! And I don't want to support it cause its WRONG!" that shut everyone up for a while!  happy beaverhug

Ohmygoodness I'm totally the same. Since i go to boarding school [most of you know] a lot of the girls are from the country, so they eat meat. i don't force anything on them, i never say a word. but i can't stand when they say 'mmm i LOVE STEAK BURGERS for lunch!!' it's just annoying. bluuuh

when i first turned veg my parents thought i was going thro a thing, my mum tryed to get me to eat veal sad .. but i just said " mum and dad this is my choice, and i want to do this for my health and the animals, i wont push anything onto u as long as u dont push anything onto me. i would appreciate it if u supported me" something along those lines tongue . and then my younger sis turned veg aswell, so that was a bonus ecstatic .

and ever since then they have supported me, just sit down with them and tell them how u feel. worked for me . good luck

100% Agree.

Obviously you have a passion to not eat animals, so use that to empower you to ignore all the crap you may get from anyone, and to give you strength to do what makes you happy.
Keep persisting, they will learn to get used to it, they may even begin to eat occasional meals with you. Who knows, you could eventually turn them! ^^

Best of luck, it's always a little hard because we are seen as 'different' but I say different is good!

It sucks that this is happening but it's something you'll get use to and people will become understanding.
I live in a house with 3 boys and im vegan and every night it's the same
"why can't you be normal"
"why are you vegan"
"whats so good about it"
"yuck that looks gross"
etc

and you just have to brush it off if your happy being veg then do it
people suck and not everyone can accept it happy

Good luck happy

You always got me lils!

Tell your Dad to get with it & accept your choice because it's not changing!
Or I will tell him lol....

He just doesn't understand, he needs to watch Earthlings and then he might get it a little more.

ps you are not lone! You've got me, Trent, Cailyn! Casey is now a vego too, we've got a little Maryborough Clan these days chicky happy We should all have a dinner party soon!

Just be yourself and those that mind don't matter and those that matter won't mind!
