the only thing that gets me is cheese.
What about vegan cheese? ecstatic
Only tried the toffuti american style slices and they were foul, haven't seen any other vegan cheeses around where i live.
I have a friend who's daughter is lactose intolerant, & I was telling her one day how much I love soy cheese, & she was amazed, describing it as tasting like "curdled cow's vomit". I managed to convince her to try the soy cheese I eat, Simply Better Foods Chive Soycheese, & she loved it! Apparenty I just lucked out, as it is the first (& only) soy cheese I've tried. They sell it at a lot of Coles in NSW, maybe you can have a look for it & give it a go if you find it? It is deeeeelicious!  love

I became vegetarian after going to the Royal Easter Show and walking past the cows. Mum said "those cows are what McDonalds burgers are made from" and I lost it. That's when I found out about the cow shows, how the winners are killed. They're paraded around the show just to go to the slaughter house, I was sick before the fireworks show.

we have a thing called "cattle club" at my school. They spend weeks and weeks groming, and fattening up these gorgeous cows, only to parade them around the ring at the royal adelaide show, then they are slaughtered that night and their meat is paraded for all to see the next day on a metal hook.

I've heard that you need to have some time between last eating dairy cheese and trying vegan cheese. Though I'm keen to try the daiya cheese when it eventually comes to australia. I will just go cheese free when i leave home, i can't get away from it in some of the dishes mum makes at home, pasta and potato bakes for example.

Yeah my cousin had one of those at her schools, but they never told them what happened to the cows. She got chosen to judge a show and was finally told, she boycotted that club immediately.

I have been trying for years to go vegetarian. I can't stand the taste of meat and hate the fact that these beautiful animals are slaughted for human consumption. I often get not burgers and eat just a plate of vegetables but I am still guilty of eating meat sometimes. I would love to go completely vegetarian so is there any sites I can go to to reserch a vegetarian diet which will give me plenty of vitamin b as I suffer from severe anemia.
