Near misses?

Even if you've been vegan for years like me, things still sneak up on you!

I had a craving for canned spaghetti the other day so went and bought a can of Heinz. I got it home, opened it, put it in the bowl and then thought "oh, I better just check (I seriously didn't think it would have any dairy)." Bam, dairy. I was so disappointed. I checked the cupboard and there was a home brand can already there anyway and it had no dairy. Lucky! I ate that and put the other spag in the fridge for my house mate. Unfulfilled craving averted.

I bought a packet of lolliland jubes from Kmart which I once thought were vegan. I got home ate a couple and then randomly read the ingredients...it turns out they now have 'gelatin' stamped on the back of the packet sad

I had one last night too!  For some reason I had a massive craving for Special K (which I haven't eaten since I was a kid, so pre-vegan) - I was so excited on the way home from the supermarket but, just as I was about to pour it into the bowl I checked...  milk powder.  Grr...  for what purpose?!?

Luckily, my husband said that he will eat it.  And I had Rice Bubbles instead.

Haha. I had a little panic attack yesterday when the girl who made my soy latte heated the milk so well I thought it was dairy milk. tongue But the soy-y colour and smell calmed me back down.

o.O I have a sneaking suspicion I'd be violently sick if I drank dairy milk anyway.
I make a kick ass coffee ;D

Just found kind of a big one. We've been buying Diet Rite cordial for ages, so I haven't checked the back of a bottle in a whiile. I looked today, and they've added carmine now!
