I highly recommend the tofutti mozzarella slices. I made vegan calzones the other night and it actually tasted like regular cheese! They are also fairly cheap at $5 for a pack.
I bought Sheese cheddar today for the first time and I think it tastes very similar to the real thing! I started eating pieces of it by itself haha. It cost me $8 which is pretty good considering how big the slab is.
I think everyone has a different idea of what tastes good, so maybe you will just have to keep trying different vegan cheeses until you find one you like
Actually, I'm curious about this too. I love Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese, but hate Tofutti slices. I've never had cheezly or sheese, but I've seen both. Which ones are best for melting on nachos or pizza?

This is Teese, which I have yet to try cos it's like 12 bucks... Gonna get some next time I see it tho http://www.chicagosoydairy.com/teese_vegan_cheese/ look at the images and how melty it is... Mmmm!
I personally don't like any of the tofutti slices, they're soo much and make me feel sick. I don't particularly enjoy the sheese either.
I use tofutti cream cheese and mozarella cheezly, and dairy free parmezano which you can get at the cruelty free shop - great for pastas (and other stuff)
Apart from that I stick to cheese sauces made from nutritional yeast or as stated above my mozarella cheese recipe... this topic has earnt it a lot of blog hits
