Daiya is the business. My friend brought me some back from the US. It's all kinds of amazing, it even stretches like real cheese when melted.  I'm getting some more soon when my bro gets back from LA.  I told him to pack his case full of it.
Unreal!!! *eagerly awaiting*

Notzarella - as far as vegan cheese goes, pretty darned good. Melts well, tastes good, makes a killer pizza and all for a very reasonable price compared to other vegan cheeses. Looking forward to trying the other flavours next...
How is it in comparison to dairy cheese? I've gotten my mum to give up milk, eggs, meat, gelatine, cochineal etc. but she won't give up cheese. (I'm weaning myself off it, then my diet will be vegan) I'm hoping that once this can be delivered to Perth that we'll be able to get dairy out of the house completely.
For starters I don't think that vegan cheeses ever taste quite the same as the real deal so I wouldn't eat it by itself iykwim. But on a hot lasagna, pizza or toastie this works quite well. It gives you that ooey gooey drippy fatty yumness that cheese does ecstatic It doesn't stretch like mozzarella but I never liked how mozzarella stretched anyway tongue I think they're doing some tweaking of the recipe atm so will be interesting to see how much better they can get it...

I discovered that my new, local Woollies stock Toffutti slices and so I decided to give them a go.

I didn't like the slightly sour/bitter taste and, sadly, had to throw them out.

My seven year search for a palatable vegan cheese continues.

Yeah they said they are going to make it melt better, and make it so it browns in the oven ecstatic
I can't wait to try it! Do you think it is the best vegan cheese you have tried?

Did you have them heated? That's the trick I think because cold they're god awful but heated they're ok.

I don't know... I've had sheese, tofutti and cheezley. Notzarella melted best for sure. The taste was very mild (bland even?) as mozzarella is I guess so it's hard to say in regard to taste. Sheese has a better taste but does not melt. Will have to wait and see but i think if these notzarella peeps do a cheddar it could just be the best vegan cheese I've had... dying to try Daiya though!!

No, I didn't even think about that at the time!   I'll have to get another packet and give that a try.  Thanks.

Yeah Sheese tastes so good! I could actually eat the cheddar raw without cooking it! I tried to make pizza with the mozzarella and it tasted good, but went crunchy sad
So far cheezly mozzarella and tofutti mozzarella slices are my favourites to eat cooked.

I know I want Daiya so badly! If it is as good as everyone says it is then they should have no problems selling it over here!

Totally agree with melting. Eating it cold tastes awful! But it's fab on pizzas and burgers!

It appears Notzarella is open again for orders.  I really appreciate the effort the makers have put in to this but at $26.00 a kilo plus postage you would have to have a serious cheese  craving.
