It appears Notzarella is open again for orders.  I really appreciate the effort the makers have put in to this but at $26.00 a kilo plus postage you would have to have a serious cheese  craving.

Yeah I agree it is expensive and not everyone will be able to afford it. But once they re-gain their costs and start supplying it to retail stores then they will hopefully be able to down the costs.
I have bought some, for me it is still cheaper than buying cheezly (1kg cheezly = $35 + postage) and I prefer to support local companies.

I'm still eagerly waiting for my order to arrive. They accidentally ordered the wrong brand of ingredients so the cheese wasn't as firm as it usually is. So I decided to wait until they made a new batch. It should be here tomorrow *fingers crossed*.

I actually have my first ever lot of Notzarella pizza in the oven right now as I type haha.

I think that they should have probably looked further into the ingredients before selling the product, however I don't think they ever officially claimed it to be palm oil free.
I think that it is great that they are now offering customers a new version without the possible palm oil. I say possible because they are still not sure whether the vegetable oil is from palm oil or not.
People know that this cheese is only in its very early stages, so I think that people should expect a few hiccups. People don't seem to be annoyed about it except for Bev lol.
Also all the other vegan cheeses on the market contain palm oil, so I bet 0.02% is so much better than the amounts they contain.
But yeah overall I think that Notzarella handled this issue quite well by offering an alternative happy

Just finished the pizza...It melted much better than the other vegan cheeses I have tried, the taste was slightly better as well. Definitely a winner  peace_out

I started ordering some today but when I saw the price of $38 delivered I had to stop.  The household just can't wear that expense. sad

At godzilla pizza the other night (my friend was checking it out) I found http://cdn.nexternal.com/vegane/images/ParmazanoXL.jpg

:O pasta with sprinkles again yay.

ummmmmm

Oh they do gourmet pizza with eggplant too and anything can be made vegan...
they even leave pesto out apparently because 'it has 5% something arather in it..
just to say they actually look into things which is nice haha...

I was confused when the lady said 'oh we can do the blah we just leave out the blah and put peperoni on instead... I was   -  S  *  "that.... sounds.....  eeerr.. nice?"  but it was actually vegan peperoni she was talking about LOL_lol

I don't need a reason to eat junk food though.. I'd rather not fall into the trap of looking for vegan alternatives and settling on decadent treats hahah.

[email protected]!#$%&*dammit. cry

This was, like, a perfect product. I see also they've switched from iodised salt to sea salt which is one of my other personal bugbears. *sigh*

Where can you opt for a version without the palm oil based flavouring? I can't find it in the ordering process.

i ordered Notzorella the other week, and i bought a whole lot of it (i guess to justify postage) and i find it quite nice!happy
For me, it didn't melt as much, but taste wise i think it's pretty damn good!

i think it will always be a little bit of a battle for vegan cheese to be as cheesy in taste and melting-ness as regular cheese, but if the taste is pretty close, then i'm happy!!!  clap
