My skin has probably become slightly better since going vegan. I find it isn't as oily and congested now that I don't eat dairy.
I recently started using this scrub and it is working really well with my skin. It is vegan, not tested on animals, Australian made anddd it smells really good. It is a rough scrub so I wouldn't recommend people with very sensitive skin to use it. http://www.gaiaskinnaturals.com/GAIA-Skincare-Facial-Exfoliant/
Other than that I just try and drink plenty of water and limit my intake of very oily and sugary foods.
St ives facial masks and scrubs are vegan also, or making your own with lemon juice, grinded sea salt and agave nectar (or aloe vera) would work too

I've been vegan for 8 months, am eating better than EVER, drink loads of water, but I have Acne, it's so painful!!!! I'd been on the pill for it for the past three years but I figured I shouldn't put my own vanity before animal testing and didn't like the idea of altering my hormones....
Have you tried monitoring your cycles? That's a nice hormone free way to go about it. happy
haha no no the pill was for acne, not sure if monitoring my cycles will clear up my skin wink haah

Ok so I think I might have a possible theory for this.

My skin started breaking out more since I became a vegetarian.  I've used many different acne products (including ProActiv) with no real success.

In my search for more acne solutions online, I came across a acne solution called "Pantothen".  This product has two active ingredients called Pantothenic Acid and L-Carnitine. The company argues that a dietary deficiency may cause acne "based on the research of Dr. Lit-Hung Leung, who published his first study on the relationship between Pantothenic Acid and acne treatment in 1997".

Pantothenic Acid is more commonly known as Vitamin B5.  So basically this "Pathothen" product is just an expensive, well marketed vitamin pill which I would not bother buying.

HOWEVER they may be onto something because both Pantothenic Acid and L-Carnitine are found in their highest concentrations in meat and dairy products. So vegans and vegetarians may be missing out on these nutrients that help prevent acne.

So what vegetarian/vegan food source contains these nutrients?  Turns out that AVOCADOS have a fairly high concentration of both, so I'm going to try including a lot more in my diet and see how it goes. Of course there are lots of other vegetables that have these nutrients so for more information check out these wikipedia pages:

Hi there. Maybe it's because your body is getting rid of toxins. Drink lots of lemon tea before you go to bed. With the pulp, smear it on your face before you go to bed too. Also tea tree oil helps if you get a cotton bud and put it on the blotchy parts. Don't worry. Been vegan vego ALL MY LIFE and it happens to me too, ha ha.

There are vegan L-carnitine supplements. But otherwise, avocados are the only decent source I've come across.

You may also want to consider if you are low on DHA / EPA and consider taking a vegan omega -3 DHA/EPA.
