Hey Jess so sorry if you think this is in any way the forums or yours and karens fault.

it certainly IS NOT
Thanks Jack happy

It doesn't really matter whose fault it is though... The community is the life blood of Unleashed, and if it's sick then it's our job to fix it!

I've been AWOL too working around the clock on the live export campaign ... but the Unleashed forum holds a special place in my heart and I want to make sure everything's okay here. To those who are disappointed with the forum lately would the "hide a thread" functionality help?

We could do a better job of keeping threads tidy; merging related threads; renaming ambiguous "PLEASE READ!" thread titles etc, but we can't tell people what to discuss - so perhaps thread hiding options would help to overcome what we can't control. Thoughts?

Any other suggestions?
Good suggestion, i would also say customizing what the "main" forum page shows, so someone can un-select something like "anything goes" so it won't show anything from that on the "main" forum page. Also they can always select the anything goes section from the menu if they want to see that section again without adding it back to the "main" page.

Thanks Yvan - that's not a bad suggestion.

What I'm working on right now will give you the option to hide particular threads, as well as the option to hide threads that are started by particular users.

I'll get this off the ground first, and if it appears that we still need to go further (hiding whole forum categories) then we can look into that too.

Another suggestion would be the option 'unhide' a thread, because I can just see myself hiding a thread without initially intending to. tongue

Lol that's complicated :S Cos if you hide it, it'll dissapear.. Hmm that'd be interesting haha. I definately agree it would be good if that would be possible, cos id do the same. I guess the admin staff are alot more intelligent in those kinds of things than me though haha

Is it ironic for this thread to be in 'anything goes' or is that just me?

It doesn't fit in cruelty-free living, activism (maybe it could fit there), food , campus life, new visitors, eco talk or newsworthy, so the only place it would go is in anything goes.

obviously , jack you have gained alot of respect here and i can see that.

but i just want to say that if unleashed was as useless as you make it seem in that reply, then why is it here. its extremely important - how are we to conduct street teams, events, share petitions, videos without it...

thats why i joined and i have done all this since being here a few weeks! happy

I honestly think unleashed is a great way for activists to connect with eachother....

im not even going to go into my 'stats' or whatever like you did because what we do for others (charity etc)  is nothing to be proud of - i probably didnt word that right. but thats not the reason we do it for.

also - im not an arguementitve person! so dont take it that way at all.
