I was all for this cause, until I found out that all the data, stats and photos people are using are not even relevant to greyhounds in Australia. Yes 1 idiot ten years ago killed a dog and mistreated it, that's no excuse to crucify an entire industry. After some research I discovered that each year in Australia 23500 are bred every year, 12000 are raced every week , some are resting , some are injured some bitches are on season so can't race. Don't know where the magical over or up to 20000 a year in Australia are killed comes from. If they killed this many there would be none left to race. But don't let the truth get in the way, just put 1000's out of jobs for the sake of a few bad eggs.
The second lie in your story is about the dog laying dead in the track, not even an Australian photo, I found out much to my surprise in Oz that the blue rug is the NUMBER 4 not 5 as in the photo.
As for all the references to Asia , what's that got to do with the industry here, nothing. Why stop the industry here , because of a culture overseas, action groups gone mad that say they know about an industry they're trying to destroy but they know nothing about nor care about it. I was against the dogs , now I'm against people / action groups who lie and exaggerate the truth to get what they want.
Yes protect the dogs and from what I've seen the past year 95% of dogs are loved and well taken care of.
Totally un Australian and you should all be ashamed
