niece has one night a week she 'has to eat meat'.. strange sitting there while she said ''I will do it tomorrow night instead I don't want to tonight'', then the next night the same..or just trying to avoid it. I am stuck sitting there having to say something stupid like in this case 'fish has lots of iron and vitamin a'... or strange ideologically because "can't I just have omega-3 ... instead.. that is the only reason I have to have eat :<"...
haha or something like 'but if you don't eat fish the japanese will over take us with their far superior technologies and intelligence'... (i can't take most things seriously).. or 'you best eat them while you can, before the japanese eat them all' lol...
while i am trying to avoid any skeric of it
but i'm just a dork.
Perhaps the boys can cook for themselves and your daughter can eat what you eat? Surely she doesn't have to have dairy or eggs in every meal she eats?
Or maybe the boys can have what you have with a side of meat (if they insist on it)?
I agree with this. To make things easier in my house, we'll usually cook a base of a meal (whether it be a bunch of vegetables, pasta, a curry, etc) and then if anyone feels like adding meat to it, they do. It works pretty well because that way we aren't making completely separate meals. It's sort of like at restaurants where they have the option of adding extras (cheese, meat, whatever).
So basically the base of every meal is Vegan, but others can change it if they want by adding things. It's great and everyone's happy!
I enjoy cooking my own vegetarian meals. My mum has started eating less meat and my fiance who can down 3 McDonald's burgers in one sitting wants to try to eat vegetarian for a month as a trial!
If people wanna eat meat I let them make their own decision because I would hate to be pushy, I just encourage the consumption of less meat instead!
i mainly cook for myself these days.. i'm a vego but i stick to vegan foods at home.. some of it has rubbed off onto my mum.. a few years ago we argued over the whole not eating meat issue.. eventually she turned around and came to be fairly supportive.. i never see her eat meat anymore.. although she still buys the odd can of tuna and eats dairy.. she has made the switch to soy milk.. i am proud of her i must say.. she has changed her habits quite a bit!!
My hub eats meat, and egg and cheese. But not in the house. My house is vegan, except my 3yr old gets 2 yoghurts a week (daycare) If we are out and about and get some lunch then my boys can eat what the want. But I cook, I shop, my house is vegan. Luckily I make good food lol

I used to do this with my ex. I'd cook the basis and he'll cook his own meat if he wanted to add to it.
My new man loves vegan food so he eats with me.... I don't miss cooking non-vegan food one bit!
In my house my mum little brother and her boyfriend are meat eaters the way my family works is that when they have roasts ill have mash potato they serve with it + vegies that also come with the meal mostly steamed ones or roasted ones and then just munch after dinner if im still hungry. If its potato bake or whatever then they have two dishes one which they sprinkle bacon on and one that they dont (which is obvs. for me) If we go out we order seperate dishes (if its that kind of resturant) if its a sharing dish resturant like thai or something they will get what they want and ill have the say in the veg options.
My boyfriends family are meat eaters and im vegetarian if im at their house for dinner and we eat at home either they make two meals (one with meat & one without) or they make something that is vegetarian and everyone eats it. If they go out they do the same as my parents.
At my dads house him and his wife are meat eaters, i normally eat out while im there if not then my dad will make things for me most of the time we have toasted sanwiches which he just adds bacon to (avo tomato cheese for me) and when he eat out he will get what he wants and ill get what i want. resturant wise the same as my house.
My other half is omni, my toddler daughter has been vego up until now and I have just gone from vego to vegan a month ago. Who does the cooking in your house? In our house it's me and I'm vegan so I only make vegan food, pretty simple
I guess it's a good thing my other half was vego for a decade or so, so he is quite content with this arrangement. He was skeptical about my going vegan but told me today he thinks he "eats like a king" so must not be all bad hey?
I've never ever cooked meat so wouldn't have a clue where to start anyway. Besides who wants to cook something they're not going to enjoy anyway
