There are some great things you can hire from Vivid Room in Regent Arcade in the city.  They hire out a wishing tree for about $60.00.  For my wedding my partner and I are planning to make vegan cupcakes as gifts for the guests.

congrats on your wedding! v. exciting! Where are you having it? if you dont mind me asking? curious as to where would serve all veg. I'm getting married soon too (yay!) going through 'let them eat' catering.
I really like the idea of the wishing tree....might just have to use that one myself!

Thought I would dredge up this thread!!

To the two members who were getting married last year.. how did it go?? happy

I'm getting married next year and throwing an engagement party this year..

Any tips???

I'm not going to even think about wedding catering yet... first hurdle is the engagement party.

I want it to be 100% vegan!! I am hoping to find a nice venue that will let me do self catering because I would really like to put together my own favourite vegan finger foods to be served on the night.
Though this limits venue choices so if anyone knows of any good vegan caterers or .. anything, I'd love to know.

I'm not getting married or engaged anytime soon lol....but I have been to one wedding this year and am going to another one in a months time, and both catering companies have been extremely accommodating to my boyfriend and I's vegan diet.
For the wedding we have already been too they made a vegan option for each entrée. For starters we had mini bruchettas, then we had pumpkin and basil risotto, for the main they made Moroccan eggplant and pumpkin cous cous, and for dessert was beetroot and blueberry crumble! They made all this for us and we were the only two vegans there! It was amazing.

The catering company for the other wedding which we are going to next month basically have told us that they have done a few exclusive vegetarian weddings in the past (even ones where none of the guests were allowed to wear leather or animal products!) and will be able to make us whatever vegan dish we want.

You pay a lot of money for catering a wedding, in fact most of your wedding budget will probably be spent on food - so for the money involved the majority of catering companies will be more than happy to make a vegan menu.

For the engagement party they rented out a nice function room at a bowling club and hired a catering company which did finger food. What I would do for a vegan engagement party would be too make all the vegan finger food myself and then freeze it. I would then pay a comapny to heat up the food for me on the night, and serve it to the guests happy

Wow that turned out to be a long post lol sorry. Good luck to all of those getting married.

I got married last year. We just had a wishing well that we borrowed from a friend.. TBH on the day I didn't even think about it. Our MC just mentioned it at the start of the night and that was it.

Thought I would mention the bonbonierre though, I made the placecards on small envelopes and in them I gave native flower seeds. Was relatively cheap but quite labour intensive.. People LOVED them though and I have planted the remained around my dam, so beautiful!

Oh man, that menu sounds delish abbie!!

And steph, I love that idea!! The seeds! It would be lovely to think people could take something away from your wedding and grow something from it.

This is the company I bought the seeds from. They were soo lovely. I bought a bulk pack and divided it up. Thats what took ages but was so worth it!
