I have met quite a few pit bulls. Here and in america. They were all big babies like my dog haha. So i honestly think its the owner. And the reality is most people here who have pit bulls probably have them for a reason...

Why are Pit bills banned, but American Staffys (who were bred for the same thing, and look almost the same) not? Just wondering :S
American staffys are actually banned in some states in America and in some parts of the UK for that exact reason - most people can't tell them apart from Pit Bulls.
The only way to know for sure would to get a DNA test.

i think it the owners, i have meet the niceest staffys, and then you can come across really agressive poddles, its all to do with the owners.

I believe all dogs have potential to attack if not treated well. It is the owners responsibility for looking after their dog which they clearly did not do. i also blame  dog breeders who breed irresponsibily ie inbreeding and not screening for medical / behaviour problems

when i was working at the vets last year, the most beautiful Pitbull came in, he was so sweet, caring and playful. i had to take him for a walk and everyone that walked past gave him a pat and said " wow what a beautiful dog, its a shame they have such  bad rep"

the pitty was in getting his up-to-date med check, and he passed. wow i would of loved to take him home with me happy

It wasnt a pitbull. It was a mastiff cross pit bull. Or it might not have been pit bull at all, maybe some staffy.

I think big dogs with large muscle mass need to be specially looked after,.
Pit bulls are very strong and were bred to kill. Therefore there needs to be very tight restrictions and owners need to watch for any signs of aggression. This goes for all dogs but particularly very strong dogs that can rip you apart in seconds.
To say that they should be illegal is genocide. They are a unique and wonderful breed and have great personalities.

BTW St Albans is a cesspool of welfare bludgers and criminals. I live near there and often there will be a rape or violent assault and the media wont even mention it. This dog didnt know right from wrong, yet the media reports it as if this is ALL the dogs fault.
Who is the owner? put his photo up, condemn him.
plus start reporting all the other crimes committed by the welfare losers from St Albans,
amen to that.
Also, why aren't we looking at special licenses for strong breeds? Something where the owner has to pass a test in handling the dog so every second bogan isn't allowed a pit bull because they want to look badass.

2. A 4 year old girl DIED it doesnt matter if her parents are welfare bludgers or criminals or Losers as you put it or are you saying that the  social standing of a victim  dictates whether we show horror of compassion If you truly are trying to justify what this dog did because of the suburb that it happened in then you are a  D***Head

his reply was clearly attacking the owner of the dog, not the victims parents. Learn to read.
