Also, life is too short to put up with crap friends. If you tell them it upsets you and they continue to jaunt, then perhaps it's time to move on...
Exactly!

I am very appreciative of the friends I have. I have never copped anything like this. In fact one friend I spoke to and showed him "From Farm to Fridge" immediately went Vegan. Not 100% as his wife cooks and she hasn't been educated. He even said something to the effect "I don't know all about this but I know if it is something that has made you speak up and go Vegan it is good enough reason for me too."

Sorry to say but get new friends  bye
Definately! As the saying goes "you can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family". Friendship is all about respect.

Firstly, tell them. If they're really your friends or friends worth keeping then they won't want to hurt you.
If theres anyone in the group you think would be more understanding talk to them and ask them to help you get it through to the others.

Also try not to be pushy about meat-eating vs vegetarianism. They may feel like you're trying to force it on to them and thats the only way they know how to retaliate it. If appropriate make a deal that they won't do the things that are bothering you and you'll lighten up on the anti-meat stuff.
It's more effective to subtly remind/inform them and let them come to their own informed conclusions anyway.
