Came across an article noting how Barcelona held its last bullfight today,

Hopefully this archaic and barbaric tradition will just die already. Amazing how people pay money to sit in an arena and watch some dude stab a bull, the things we do.

Yeah true, the same old arguement "it's our tradition, it's our culture, it's ingrained", even if it's barbaric and cruel.

Use to be tradition for man and beast to fight in Roman society too but that ended in 438 CE, they have no argument against cruelty.

Doesn't look like the rest of the country will follow. Apparently this region has always wanted independence and it may just be a symbol of them rejecting spanish culture

That is right, any thing is better than nothing. One step in the direction of saving our beautiful animal friends is so amazing. Let's hope a lot more steps can be taken along the way.
