I did a course once called Animal/Human cultures @ Usyd, and there was this awesome quote by Derrida(?) which I've never been able to find since. It went along the lines of how astonishingly misrepresentative it is to lump thousands upon thousands of different species into one label called 'animal', by which we humans can differentiate ourselves from the 'other'.'

I know its not super profound or elegantly written but I love it. So simple but it has so much meaning for me. And if I ever have a 'forgetful' day and think why am I doing this? I have these words to remind me, forever!

To all those who wonder about the pain of tattoos, it doesn't hurt. Well no where NEAR how I imagined! Think of a sewing needle being dragged across you skin, occasionally catching. Thats the kind of pain.
